I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad you showed this song! It's my favorite Metallica song! And yes, they were so young when they wrote it, yet the lyrics and music flow tremendously well. Back in the early 80's, listening to these bands was almost taboo in the music industry. Metallica liked it that way then... they didn't sell out until the Black album (when most of the popular world discovered them and gave them a chance). Prior to then, you had to be in the "metalhead/satanic" crowd to know about them. This song is a gem... the rhythm equates to galloping horses. Too bad the radio never plays these songs in 2023; otherwise, I know a lot of the younger generations would request them after being exposed. Think about it.... this music was not easy to make, play and incorporate lyrics. These guys did it.. halfway hammered, yet they made it to the top. Great job guys! Glad to see you're appreciating good music! And yes, the 4 guitar riffs represented the 4 Horsemen (awesome analogy!)

He was considered to be out of control by managers and the other members were forced to kick him out of the band. Megadeth is very solid as a band. It's like comparing Peyton Manning to Tom Brady. One has more hardware than the other but both were leaders in thrash genre. Metallica would be short a few of their best cuts if not for Mustaine so he has to get credit since it's due!

Ulrich is my source and I don't think he'd have reason to fabricate their beginning especially crediting a huge part of their beginning successes to Mustaine. Great video obviously its Metallica. Do watch sometime and you'll enjoy! I've been into Metallica since late 80s and have always regarded them as the best band of metal! Dave Mustaine has said that he didn't want Megadeth to sound like Metallica when he formed the band in 1983 after being fired... He hired more technically gifted musicians for Megadeth because he wanted more unpredictability and dual lead guitars (Metallica has a rhythm- lead guitar combo of James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett)... Dave Mustaine was on lead guitar, and so was their first guitarist Chris Poland... their first drummer (the late) Gar Samuelson was a phenomenal drummer who could even play jazz (Lars Ulrich, the drummer of Metallica, was not technically gifted... but he could make a noise on the kit!) Megadeth actually recorded the original version of 'The four horsemen'... titled 'Mechanix'. The contrast between the 2 versions is the difference between Metallica and Megadeth sonically.

Man, I would rock this song on my guitar hard! I lived through it back in those days and it's still playing hard till this day. I still jam this song on my guitar because it brings me back to my youth. You boys are a little late to hear it, but better late than never. Keep rocking it. Metal rules!

Now you're cooking with fire. I saw Metallica on this tour in '83, then again in '88 at the Monsters of Rock concert. If you want to see how all this incredible music was made possible you should watch the documentary Standing in the Shadows of Motown. It's the story of the Funk Brothers, the band behind the Motown sound. It's one of the greatest tributes to music ever. Joe Hunter alone is amazing.

7:52 Sweet Home Alabama It actually is!. Cliff was a huge Lynyrd Skynyrd fan and that part was a tribute to their most famous song.
