“The God That Failed” is one of my top 3 favorite songs from The Black Album (alongside “Through the Never” and “My Friend of Misery”). This is probably the best live version of TGTF that I’ve ever heard. I like the sound/mix of this performance I also liked that Rob used a pick during this song. Shoutout to Kirk, who nailed the solo and didn’t even have to use a wah pedal! James’ vocals sounds pretty good too and he has a nice guitar tone here as well.

As an ex-evangelical I used to listen to this song frequently. However, the older I get the more I can see that it is the hypocritical church that has failed to communicate the truth.

This performance right here show just how far Rob has come and how his presence has only enhanced an already amazing band! His background vocals are impeccable and him playing with a pick shows how much respect he has for Jason’s work as much as he’s shown it for Cliff (RIP). Also, I FUCKING LOVE METALLICA SO FUCKING MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you bastards! May God bless you!
