I think One might be their most complete song. It starts of kinda slow and soft which satisfy the people who doesn't like heavy music and fast music and then it finishes of fast and heavy which satisfy the people that loves heavier and faster music. It also got a badass guitar solo.

@gabpoersch6 жыл бұрын

@Plastixxx5 жыл бұрын
most positive Metallica comment section you say ... well let me fix that :) ... the name should have been 'the riff that never comes' ... the original idea they had in the studio and the acoustic guitar lick Rob did was 10times better intro to wrap around the 2nd part of the tune. The beginning [3-4mins] are out of place, personal opinion of course but the end is heavy riff tune with loads of variation and the beginning is wishy-washy unforgiven mutation and not in a good way, as much as i didn't like the unforgivable :D unforgiven, i respect that it is a good song. Its like mixing trash & Lady Gaga ... oh wait :D ... jokes aside, hands down one of the best bands there ever was and quite likely there ever will be, with the 'artificial direction' of new music/artists in general is going these days. I would even stretch and say in the 'early days' (late 80s, early 90s) Lars was in a league of his own. Not as the best drummer but the best 'odd' drummer and he made it work and then some. Loved the 'swingy loose but heavy' beats and rhythm he used to come up with. Anyways still a great song, i just wished they put a little bit more of the original idea and kept the first tracks they recorded as heard/seen on the video about the album. Thats it ... oh wait .. i have a better name for this track .. The Robbed Riff that Never Comes ... :) there.

After that, I passed up multiple opportunities to see them live as I was disappointed with that show. The last time they were in houston (2018 or 2019) I finally gave in and bought tickets. That's because it's the album's ballad.

+SigmaTV i think it has a similar build up to one. With a clean verse and a heavy chorus and end.

***** I agree right there, I think DM is like ...AJFA v2, and don't take it as an offense, because I like both albums, just say that because they have a very similar structure.

SigmaTV I totally agree i like both albums as well and think they share many similarities. :)

I never looked too kindly on the "post Reload" era of Metallica. It was odd seeing and defending the band I loved through album after album of what seemed like therapy-exercise releases rather than a worthwhile or logical evolution of the music I'd loved for decades prior. This was an incredible song. I never realised that LISTENING to this (even a cursory LISTEN) roots you back to that Reload era. We needed that, as old-school fans, we needed to have the lineage we'd lost, we didn't understand and couldn't follow. And I didn't recognise it until tonight that we have it hear. My goodness this song is excellent.

Born to push you around Better just stay down You pull away He hits the flesh You hit the ground Mouth so full of lies Tend to block, your eyes Just keep them closed Keep praying Just keep awaiting Waiting for the one The day that never comes When they stand up and feel the warmth But the sunshine never comes, no No, the sunshine never comes Push you cross that line Just stay down this time Hide in yourself Crawl in yourself You'll have your time God I'll make them pay Take it back one day I'll end this day I'll splatter color on this grave Waiting for the one The day that never comes When they….........................
