seriously!!! And without taking anything away from the heavy perfection of the guitars. It's so nice to hear Metallica finally using a fully three-dimensional sound approach to frequencies! They really are in many ways at the top of their game as a live band it seems.

Back in '85 he started playing those Jackson RR models. I was at the 1985 Sacramento, CA show and James looks over and says, "Where does this guy get all these new guitars?" ....of course back then that was a big deal because all of us played guitar too. And the solos were something we all looks forward to.

They shaped my musical influence, and even though I play Melodic Death Metal/Black Metal, the Metallica influence is still well and strong in my music. When they first recruited Rob I was a little skeptical, not to criticize his bass playing abilities, been a S.T. Fan for almost 30 years and a Metallica fan even longer, just didn’t seem like he fit at first but now it seems it was meant to be, I Love Rob and it was really cool seeing his son playing with S.T., he looks just like Rob and talented as well, I know Rob’s proud of him, my first show was Metallica at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta in the early 90’s and Jason killed it, I’d love to see them with Rob now, I hope I get the chance one day.

I like what slayer has done as well but to have evry song with the same sound is a little bit boring at times, so metallica having different genres in their whole career combined can really bring you to another dimension. this only proves metallicas greatness from kill them all to 72 seasons. its been a roller coaster ride listening to u guys.

Seriously though, he's got that gruff sound back in his voice, it's amazing. He still goes into a clean tone sometimes, but not nearly as much as he used to. Definitely the best he's sounded in probably 10+ years imo.
