I say: Seattle 89 was, is and always will be the best concert of metallica and metal in the history. James with his best voice and rhythmic guitar, Kirk playing great solos, Lars playing drums very fast and excellent and Jason with his presence on stage, great vocals and also headbanging. METALLICA!!! lm/,

Saw them on this tour twice -- late 1988 at the Philadelphia Spectrum, and also March 12, 1989, at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA (outskirts of Philadelphia). You can find really good-quality footage of the 3-12-1989 Philadelphia gig on KZbin; definitely a good one to watch. I was there.

always nice to see metal bands in their prime. I never was an ardent Metallica fan but songs like this make one understand their status. Their first 5 records were amazing and they deserve respect for this achievement regerdless of what's going on now

Possessed released Seven Churches in 1985. Death released Scream Bloody Gore and Sepultura released Schizophrenia in 1987. Death metal was born before 1989. Just didn't become popular until then.

I'll never forget the NY times (I think it was that paper...) had a massive review of this show in LI, NY. It was a sick review, really good, which was a massive shock to us Metal Heads, haha. And they went on how only Metallica could get a stadium full of people to chant "Die" for 5 minutes, haha.

never, never, never will exist another band which can shadow them. They are the most brutal heavy metal band that life can give to the metal: brutal presence, brutal energy, brutal sound, brutal songs... sometimes desire enters me of crying when I see this videos and compare this with the nowadays. Metallica lives thanks to the past cause they haven't anything new to offer. as they said: sad but true...

that's what it is. in the album version its just "I shall pass" but they add motherfucker in the live version lol. look up the lyrics, it will make more sense; the song is about the 7 plagues from the movie "the 10 commandments". When watching the movie as a band, Cliff remarked "It's like creeping death!" and it sounded too cool to pass up.
