Imaginaerum
Imaginaerum es el séptimo álbum de estudio de la banda finlandesa Nightwish, publicado el 30 de noviembre de 2011 en Finlandia y el 2 de diciembre de 2011 en el resto de Europa.1​ Imaginaerum es un álbum conceptual que cuenta la historia de un viejo compositor recordando toda su vida en su lecho de muerte, su producción se llevó a cabo en simultáneo en su contenido lírico -también titulada Imaginaerum- dirigida por Stobe Harju, cuyas grabaciones comenzaron en septiembre del 2011 en Montréal estrenada el 23 de noviembre de 2012.
En febrero de 2011, el álbum originalmente tenía como título Imaginarium en agosto del mismo año fue cambiado por el de Imaginaerum para evitar confusiones con otros nombres semejantes. El 2 de septiembre de 2011, la banda anunció su primer sencillo «Storytime» su estreno fue en la estación de radio finlandesa Radio Rock el 7 de noviembre y el sencillo fue oficialmente lanzado junto con el vídeo promocional el 9 de noviembre de 2011,2​ el segundo sencillo fue «The Crow, the Owl and the Dove» salió a la venta el 29 de febrero de 2012. En marzo de 2012, el sello discográfico Nuclear Blast realizó un concurso para que los admiradores hagan sus propios vídeos musicales de «The Crow, the Owl and the Dove».3​
Ambos sencillos llegaron al puesto uno en Finlandia en su primer día de acuerdo con Iltasanomat, Imaginaerum en las tiendas vendió más de cincuenta mil copias en dicho país logrando obtener certificado doble discos platino por Suomen virallinen y siendo declarado el disco más vendido en menos tiempo en ese país.4​ Vendió más de cien mil ejemplares a finales de diciembre por lo que es el disco más comprado del año en su país de origen, tras solo un mes en las tiendas Imaginaerum entró en las listas de otros países europeos y también en las gráficas musicales de Norteamérica y Asia. La banda comenzó la gira promocional «Imaginaerum World Tour» el 21 de enero de 2012 en los Estados Unidos y finalizó en el M'era Luna Festival de Alemania.5​ Imaginaerum fue el segundo y último álbum con la vocalista Anette Olzon.

Anette was a beast live too. We just don't have professionally recorded concerts with her from her time in Nightwish on the same level we have of Floor and Tarja. But trust me, her concerts were pure magic, just like Tarja and Floor. There was never any difference that way.

There is only one live show here on KZbin in which Annette is great, search “Anette live 2012”, you’ll find a concert from the first part of imaginaerum tour. Not excellent video quality but you can really hear the difference in her voice and mood, much better than here in France where she was already losing it, singing more harshly (and sometimes out of pitch), because she is visibly tired an has throat inflammation. A pity, but that’s what happened, she couldn’t handle the whole year of a stressful tour, and at the end of 2012 they replaced her

Well, their touring schedule was inhumane during Anettes time. You can realy see and hear it, when you compare even fan videos from tour beginning to tour end (or rather, end of that part of the tour). For the second tour they tried to turn it down (less concerts in longer time periods, shorter non stop concert periods, more and longer tour breaks, etc), but Anette was already kinda worn out and stressed and other things added to it. Neither Tarja nor Floor had such hardcore tour schedules (but let's be honest, Floor could probably handle it, that woman is undestructable).

@@lauraros5198 At the end of 2012 she was pregnant to her third child and hospitalised in Denver and of course it was difficult to complete the tour,she suggested to cancel the rest of the tour but Tuomas didn't wanted to cancel the rest of the tour and took Floor as a travel singer and finally stayed permanently, because Annette never forgive Tuomas and she refused to have with her video recording, so we have some video clips from NW and some lives from festivals and private videos but no one official. I have many songs and complete concerts now from Annette's era after years of looking for and i would say that she is good to her songs and in some songs of Tarja's era.

Having gone back and listened to the Tarja albums, I can only say that I am disappointed…with the fan reaction to Anette Olzon and with the band’s ultimate decision. All the way back to the beginning, NW was a pioneering band. Every other female fronted rock or metal band that came before them? None of them sounded like Nightwish or were doing what Nightwish was doing (where do you think early Evanescence got its inspiration?); Anette’s era marked a sonic continuation of the catchy, almost borderline poppy, symphonic metal that they had made with Century Child and Once, with a different frontwoman (which is interesting, given that the brightening of Tarja’s tessitura coincided with this new era of the band that began with Century Child and ended with Imaginaerum). And what do they do when everyone trashed their creative decision? Kicked Anette to the road because she wasn’t an atheist (“lacking moral character” is a bs reason, Tuomas!) and didn’t want to sing odes to science, and replaced her with a generic Doro impersonator. Talk about taking three steps backwards to take only one step forward.

I'm so glad to finally found one live performance with Annette that doesn't render me nauseous and with a headache. She's way off quite a few times but not so much that I can't handle it. I became a Nighwish fan during the Floor-era so.. To all those who want to hate me for cracking down on Annette's live-performances; I have an absolute pitch ear (sadly), I'm Swedish and I would love to see Annette shine but to me she's a good recording artist. To those who believe Annette never uses tonal modulator... How do you think recordings are made???? They fix whatever needs to be fixed. Annette isn't a bad singer. She's just out of her depth in metal with only a 2+ octave range, that insecure bad pitch and she can't belt. In a small setting with songs made for her vocal range (no need to octave down anything) she could definitely shine. She has a cute tone perfect for country, folk music or slow pop. I would like to see her doing that, but not rock or metal. Feel free to hate, but please know that I don't hate Annette or her voice. I'm just venting my opinions.

Most people never knew NW in that festival and only Annette fixed very well in my opinion and the list of the songs is amazing. The outfits of Annette are very good and never dressed second time with same clothes. I have seen at least 50 videos from different concerts not so good but her outfits usually are fantastic. But anyway a good and loving singer loved by people no matter what she dressed 😂🤩. And she was almost forty years old with two children then. Stop to judge her still today.

I think this song suits Anettes voice quite well! There are a few difficult parts, but overall it's a good performance! Well, she doesn't steal the whole stage like Floor does, so the cameras also shoot the other members a lot more. That only means that this must be one of the best clips of Jukka behind the kit! Holy shit that drum kit is going to need a cigarette (and painkillers) after that!

We all know what a great voice Marco has but listening to this performance you can hear clearly that Marco is holding back not to overshadow Anette. A band like Nightwish and the music there making need a much better vocalist than Anette. Not that she's bad but her voice fits much better for the pop scene than for a Symphonic Rock Band as Nightwish. Gladly they have Floor now and be real if you look closely you see the guy's in the band are constantly smiling just for the fact they are happy on how the songs sounds live even this song. Floor didn't "save" the band. They didn't need saving. They were, with Anette, insanely successful. Sold out arenas across the board. If you think for one second that Floor came in as a saving angel to this band, then you should reexamine their success a bit. First, the two albums with Anette is by far the best selling albums that Nightwish ever released. Floor's two albums with them pales in comparison. And we can't just blame declining album sales across the board. It is because Floor is not that popular outside the fanbase. Second, in all concerts, Anette never once used an auto tune device. This is the main reason she sounds like she does in concerts. I invote you to try, just for a few weeks, to sing night after night, day after day, and see where your voice ends up a little bit down the road. While you are at it, try listening to other female vocalists live. Isn't it strange they all sound a bit off at times, they miss texts, they're off beat more often than not, and generally sounds not so good as they should? That is because of voice tear. Which is normal among performing artists, no matter the gender. Now, listen to Floor Jansen. All concerts, perfect pitch, perfect tones and perfect lines. All songs sung in perfection. Sure, they throw in the occasional mishap, but if it was real, she would be THE best live performer the world has ever seen. This is why she is so revered as opposed to Anette. Even Tarja didn't use that shit, and you can easily hear that in their concerts. So in short, you are worshipping a false goddess whom relies on modulating technology to help her in her performances. How is that for a live performer I wonder. Third, Anette wasn't kicked because of her voice. Tuomas, and also Empuu has stated repeatedly her voice had nothing to do with it. If anything, they adored it. Same as the fans did. The most plausible reason was they wanted nostalgia, as well as move into a different direction. If they had been men, and not children, they would have ended her contract at the end of the tour, and then said bye bye, and all is well. And then hired Floor Jansen. Her use of auto tune is so consistent that you can almost never find a performance without it. I remember her in After Forever, and her performance with them 15 years ago at Bloodstock in the UK. Out of all the performers that day, including a much younger Sharon del Adel, Floor's performance was perfect in every way. All in pitch, no slip ups, no nothing. While Sharon, whom performed with Within Temptation as the very next act, had lots of them. I wonder why, yeah? Before you rag down an artist, please do try to know why things are the way they are.

The music market changes a lot in ten years and before that it was no mystery that more music was sold, especially physical albums. Now the music is all streaming and very little is sold, a reality of which most of the world pop stars suffer, let alone rock/metal groups and artists! Don't blame Floor for that. You're just jealous that the Nightwish has finally found the perfect voice (who's been in the band for almost 10 years and yet y'all still here... smh)

Lets try to find out how she was that day too. Her moods. Her health. Did she have a slight cold? Anything. There is a million things that can influence a performance. Any performance. Except Floor Janssen, whom is perfect 100% of the time for some reason. Have a look at the performances of Sharon del Adel with Within Temptation for example. Many times she sounds like crap, others like an angel. It depends on a lot of things. Doesn't mean they are bad singers.

I do not want to say that Anette is a bad singer, on contrary. If you listen to newer songs from her with a slightly different style, you can hear this. But these types of NW of songs simply do not fit to her voice, especially the ones that were written with Tarja's voice in mind. And when you compare the parts when Anette and Marco sing together and compare it to Floor+Marco singing these parts, you can hear that Marco throws in more oomph when singing with Floor compared to singing with Anette. At least this is what I can see and hear when comparing two renditions.
