I love the harmonies with Marko in this number. Just too bad they aren’t in one band any longer. Maybe now Nightwish won’t be touring for a while Floor can accompany Marko in his summer tour in Finland together with Tarja.

Thank you Fernando, I isolated the vocals from the live version and mixed them with the instrumental studio version (the choirs are still present in the instrumental track 😊)

How did you manage to do this? Very nice. So you must have had an audio track with only the vocals from the concert or something? To lay it on the original studio track.

Thanks Marjolein! I use a software tool for isolating vocals from a track. The results aren't always good though (depends a bit on the complexity of the music among other things), but most of the time the extracted vocals are usable after cleaning them up manually.

Thanks Pro-V! 🙏 I use a tool called Spleeter (developed by Deezer) to isolate vocals from songs. I need to say though that the results of the isolation process vary quite a lot in quality and they often need manual fine-tuning: sometimes the result is good or 'OK'-ish (usable after some polishing), but it also happens that it's simply not good enough to work with... So you need a little luck with it 😊

Great work! Out of curiosity, why did you remix this? Do you like the sound of the studio version better, but prefer Floor's vocals? Again, well done!! I really appreciate the black and white video. 👍 Edited to add: damn, you can really pick up the low end of the piano at 4:15. I don't know if it's played that way live or not. If it is, it's completely drowned out... which might answer my initial question. LOL

Thanks AGDinCA! Let me start by saying that I have nothing against the original version with Anette, she sang it beautifully too, but I discovered Nightwish in Floor's era, so maybe that's why I'm a bit biased towards Floor...😊 What I like about the studio version is that you can hear the choir, the orchestra and several other instruments much better than in the Wacken version, like the piano you mentioned. There are so many lovely elements in it. This is also why I always use headphones when I'm mixing, it enables you to really hear each little detail in the music. Long story short, when you listen closely to both versions you'll notice that there's quite a difference in the music and I was simply curious to know what the studio version would sound like with Floor's voice. It's not that I like the studio version better per se than the Wacken version, depends a bit on my mood which one I prefer to listen to. They each have their own unique elements that I enjoy very much (and why choose one if you can have both 😉?)

I also enjoy Anette's voice, but none compare to Floor, in my opinion. 👍 And, it's true,the orchestration of the studio version is a bit lost in the live version. One thing the live version has going for it, at least to my ear, is simply the low end. There's more bass and a deeper, darker guitar tone... which I happen to enjoy. Both versions have their value! 🤘

Amazingly well done my friend. You must do this type of editing for a living. Do you work with a video company or contract out with individual bands? You are quite talented at this type of music video editing. Are you self taught or did you take professional training?

Thank you Thorgrim! I have no formal training in audio/video editing (no connections in the music/film industry either), so this whole KZbin thing is just me having fun while experimenting with audio tracks and videos/images. I've been playing around with tools like Sound Forge Audio Studio, Audacity, Photoshop etc. for quite a few years though, so that helps. My method is basically learning on the 'job' (hobby) by trial-and-error 😉.

Beautiful work you did, the Wacken performance was incredible but unfortunately the mix for me is very bad, the drums and the orchestral background sounds very weak and you have improved all that, now sounds fantastic.
