Also it means to bring it as close to factory as possible... i don't think piaggio would ever deliver a vespa with a broken tail-light, missing paint and crud all over the inside parts....just saying

*Somehow I expected more than what was done, especially the 'inner components' in the handle-bar nacelle and the replacement of rusty screws/throttle-cable/brake-cables/brake-pads/wheel-bearings/and other items that are critical to function and use. I understand not doing a 'full-on restoration' because it wasn't wanted and then makes the machine susceptible to being stolen. *I would've done the same 'cosmetic' issues, but a complete 'replace/repair/refurbish' of inner components that are not normally visible but are important for use and reliability* ( *If it 'looks like junk' no one will steal it!* *Very clever!* )

@@wakeoftheflood2 *I would go w/new cables over 'greasing originals' because of the stretch factor involved in braided-steel cables...steel does have 'give' in it when braided and they do wear over time* *Besides, new techniques in manufacture are much better than decades ago and new cables should last for decades*

Do you know what while the description is mis leading, The actual product came out pretty cool looking. Looks like the guy did the best he could with what he had, and it made his brother happy and that was the end goal. Yes it wasn’t a restoration, but it made a cool looking little bike

Not professional. You have to strip all from frame, clean from rust, old paint, oil, grease. Then recover all surfaces using filler and use again sandpaper. After finishing, use primer and then final coat.

@@MetalRestorationBho There's a HUGE difference between "Vintage Colour" and "I stripped all the paint off and clear coated the bare metal". "Vintage Colour" would be actually painting it to look like it did when it was first built. Also, if you go to all that effort to pull it apart, why not clean up, regrease, rewire, service and repair any internal items, Clean up and restore things like switches etc. Seems like an insane waste of time to fully dismantle and not do any restoration/preventative maintenance on it while you have access.
