Willys 1966 CJ5 Painting Begins, Scott's Jeep 258 Engine Rebuild, Cam, Crank, Timing

In this video I am working on a few different things. The epoxy primer has been laid down this morning on the Willys CJ5 project. Now that the epoxy is sprayed, I will be in the paint booth every day doing another step until the project is complete. Epoxy primer, hi build primer, sanding, Sprucetip Green Metallic base coat, SPI universal clear to finish off the project. A lot to do but each step must have enough time to dry, so one step every day.
Next I am in the shop and working on Scott's AMC Jeep 258 engine rebuild. Today I am installing the new camshaft with plenty of the proper lubricant. Next the main bearings are installed along with the rear main seal. The crankshaft is installed and it is silky smooth with the proper bearing clearance. Now that the crank and cam are in the new Melling Timing chain is installed and I will show you how to make sure everything is perfect by double checking your timing gear installation.
Lots of other things going on around the shop but not much time to film everything today. More videos coming. Thanks for watching.

CJ5 looks good. On that body, are there earlier videos on the work you did on it? Is it mostly original with some replacement parts? I learn something on each video, thanks for sharing!

I had no idea that a clutch could do that kind of damage to an engine..... I dont know why it never occurred to me.... Just Wow! I learned something today..... I'll be sending off an email to you shortly.... I have questions regarding the torque specs using ARP studs on a 2a motor that had 4 or 5 head BOLTS that broke off so they were helicoiled... and im switching to studs.... Im afraid that if I use the ARP studs, with the ultra lube, and torque to spec..... I may pull the studs out....???? Im worried that ultra lube may be so slick that ill over torque.... what are your thoughts...? maybe I won't have to email you.... lol..... Thanks Brian. Eric.....

A proper thread repair will hold a stud without any trouble. Use a sealer where the stud goes into the block, and use lube when you torque the nut
