your posts do make a difference, i've learned tons from your videos...i gained enough confidence to finally rear down and rebuild my F-134. and i am glad i did. I originally was just going to pull out the crankshaft to replace the rear main seal as it was leaking badly...the previous 're-builder' didn't cut the rubber off flush with the block causing the oil pan to not make complete contact at the rear..turns out it also has the wrong crank in it and the main bearings had no dowel pins present!!... i would have never even known it had the wrong crank if it wasn't for your crankshaft identification video you posted a while back...i now have a proper crank on the way...i also have to pin a couple of cracks in the deck and have kit on the way for that as well...the camshaft also had two teeth missing where the oil pump contacts and those gear pieces were not in the bottom of the oil pan with the rest of the sludge...they put it together that way!!

Glad you are taking on the F head rebuild. I have plenty of engine rebuild videos that can help you along the way. Thanks for taking time to comment

Im glad you survived the flooding with what I guess would be considered minimal damage..... I was praying for you my friend....

Rain wasn't too bad in my location but the storms were crazy, and one lightning bolt did manage to find me.

Thanks for the video Brian. Sorry to hear about the damage. I hope one day I can come over to the USA and personally come and thank you for all the stuff you have taught me.
@metalshaperJeep2 ай бұрын
Lots of electrical damage here. So much for surge protectors, lightning passed right thru them and destroyed lots of gear. If you ever get over here to the USA let me know so we can get together.

It always baffled me what that PTO was for because it didn't match up to anything on the 3A it came out of other than having the hole for the levers to come through the body. So glad to see to see a light in the future of those parts! You are an even more amazing craftsman than the videos can do justice to!

Well done Brian, had to change my laptop too and hate the enforced interrogation to be able to get back to where I was before.

Wow lots going on as always! This is a great update for sure! I'm glad you and yours are well and that you didn't receive too much damage from the crazy weather. All the progress you are doing is fantastic and mind blowing as always. I'm glad someone willing to learn and help lives close enough, I hope things go well with Doug. I wish I could visit some day and help with anything you might need, as I feel like I owe a lot to you, from all I've learned through the years! Thank you for another great video and take care!

Always good to hear from you. Yes there is a lot going on and I am hoping to get most of it finished before the new year. Firewood season takes a lot of time but I am starting to chip away at it. Thanks for watching

Great to see the latest videos. I am sorry to hear of the mess the storms created for you. I’ll echo a couple others that if closer, I would love to learn more of this in person. Retired from IT work, never really did mechanical stuff, but started the revival of my 64 CJ5 and learning what I can piece by piece. Your videos are a huge help in making it seem like I can do some of it. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

I seem to be in a dead area and not many people around that want to do anything these days. I always hear from people on the other side of the country that want to come and help.... kind of funny how things work out.

I’m sure the electrical problems are why 😊I have not heard from you about the missing alternator bolts. Just need the sizes so I can purchase locally. Hang in there Bud!

Great video. Taking notes, man. Taking notes! Beyond appreciative of your vids, and always learn or see something cool. Nerd out over your set up. I'd say it more, but it'd be creepy!

Thanks Brian for the update a round the farm... How are the chickens, and beef doing?
@metalshaperJeep2 ай бұрын
Chickens are done for the season and beef cattle will probably not be ready until next spring. Have you heard anything from Bear? Just wondering what is going on with him

No fire to deal with but lots of ruined equipment. Lots of time and money to replace everything that went bad. Took a while to get up and running again and this is my first video after fixing the computer system.

Bryan, I'm glad I can see your videos and thanks for all the content you share, I feel encouraged to fix my 64-Cj5, I'm an electrician and I know how difficult electrical problems are for people, I hope everything is fine as soon as possible. I take this opportunity to comment, I'm interested in getting a hard half top with doors for my 65-Cj5. How can I get one?
@metalshaperJeep2 ай бұрын
I have a hardtop and doors off of a CJ5. Contact me at metalshaper@comcast.net and I can send you some photos.

Bummer on the lightning. Yea in Minnesota/Wisconsin same thing with the Ash trees. Mostly white oaks is what I see. Red oaks seem better.
@metalshaperJeep2 ай бұрын
Ash trees are going down all over the USA. Our white oak is doing better than our red oak where I am located.

Brian Hi, Can you do a step by step video on the Dana 300 when you get to rebuilding it? I would appreciate a good video on that. Most videos on the 300 on U tube aren't that great. Thanks in advance for a 300 video and also for all the other how to videos that you have put up on U Tube. R. hayden, from central IL.
@metalshaperJeep2 ай бұрын
The dana 300 is just about finished. Slowing down on videos a bit and the mechanical ones seem to be my least watched content so thinking of some new ways go get some interest.
