Vervaeke’s captivating in a completely authentic, non hyperbolic way across the board with his online presence. You end up feeling like one of his students. He hasn’t allowed himself to be warped by the constraints of the online domain in any way, unlike many of his peers, and don’t think he ever will. He’s the role model for how people of his ability should be doing things online. Bravo, sir.

I would say Vervaeke is one of the greatest philosophers of our time. He is taking philosophy back to its roots, the search for wisdom.

The more I listen to Dr Vervaeke, the more I see an interconnected thread between his lectures and the comedic process that Jerry Seinfeld describes which is philosophic in its own right. I’ve heard Dr. V make similar comments and jokes about kindness before on other clips, but each time he does so, his delivery and comedic timing becomes much more refined, poignant, and meaningful. The process which Mr Seinfeld describes is taking newly written material, trying it out on a few different crowds, seeing which parts work and which do not, and ultimately arriving at a polished, refined, and perfectly timed joke that has a much more profound impact than when the idea first arrived into consciousness. What remains is the best version of the joke or the idea - its pure essence with maximum efficacy. A true gift for the audience to appreciate, reflect upon, and integrate into their being. Thank you for the work that you do Dr. V and I look forward to learning and growing with you.

I realize it's not the focus of the talk, but I'm a bit confused bc ai isn't just algorithms we write or data we feed it Deep learning ai involves reward functions we write for ai to create their own models to adapt and learn within their environments where the ai can gather their own data through sensors for example Love that you put up talks like this btw, it's such a joy to watch and listen to, thank you :3

I agree there's some ambiguity there. It's easy to misuse AI since there are several different meanings. Maybe AI is a little more than an algorithm or data, but the agent and arena are nonetheless initially set up by humans.

These are the oldest books of knowledge, and we keep them out of schools. Anyhow. I hope you're well. Thanks again. We go off the Christian calendar tight? never mind

We need to create a system and structure for collective ideation, reasoning, and truth determination that allows humanity to map out and determine what as many individuals as possible believe is true, important, and what to do about it. Then keep an immutable record of it in a standardized format that is described in both nuance and simple language everyone can understand. It must grow and update slowly over time, operating at less than human output to ensure normal humans(as opposed to augmented humans and ai) stay in the loop as much as possible when it comes to the ideas that are most important.

So intriguing to hear John Vervaeke use-in full flow-the phrase 'zero-in'. Feels like a clue. Something like the centre of cognitive connection is supra-material, zero. Like before the zero moment its all matter or model. But in the zero moment it's all qualia. Or whatever qualia feels like. Hard to count that. A bit zeroey.

I have no idea what to care about. I been doing the work. I changed my life completely , STOPPED SEX ,DRUGS DRINKING, "ALL FRIENDS ".. I MEDITATE, EAT HEALTHY, READ BOOKS, I WORK OUT, I SPEND TIME IN NATURE.I DON'T WATCH TV!!! but I still can't find a reason!!.. THE ONLY THING THAT I CARE ABOUT IT'S MAKING PEOPLE BECOME MORE AWARE!! BUT BY DOING THAT ,I HAVE SEPARATED MYSELF FROM THE REST !! AND I DON'T MIND, I LEARNED THROUGH YEARS OF SELFWORK !! SO I CARE FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY FOR MY LITTLE NIECE, BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY OTHER REASONS TO CARE ABOUT , SO SHOULD I JUST END IT ALL?.. IS IT SELFISH , THAT SELF IMPROVEMENT IS THE ONLY THING THAT I CARE ABOUT?!.. BUT I HAVE TO WORK SO I CAN'T DO THAT.!!.AWWWWW

at 5:30 the co-shaping for me is a variation on The Picture of Dorian Gray, reverse psychology, and exapting, where the squirrels become more gay and me more grumpy while I'm doing maintenance on this food forest/animal life nursery/intelligence machine. It's not required that I act happy, only that I do this often counterintuitive harder seeming but easier in the long run method. My best example of this took 44 yrs to get easier. Sometimes I think of Herman Hesse and that book which really destroyed my potential as a capitalist. No respect or capital! Peaches!!

Delving deep into the structure of human experience, seeking meaning from the structure of being reveals a quirk of all existence: Nature is a responsive impulse. Fractal complexity requires every individual be responsive to their experience. It is likely a condition of all organisms. Knowledge is compiled around human expression, not the core connection. Draw an arc. Mark an expressive event in the middle, assume it is an act of perception. Ahead in time is the complexity that matters from here and now. Every field of science is a structural sense of past complexity, and their view is toward the origins of universal expression. Science looks back along the arc, not ahead. Creative chaotic systems are sensitive to initial conditions. Future complexity can't be undertood by looking at past complexity. The initial conditions are the true driver of modern complexity, not the complexity we are building stories around.

I have posted askings about what you are talking about the topic in this video, which is very important topic when we rescue people around matter and meaning of life. I think when Dr.Vervaeke and Dr.McGilchrist talk about this topic is to support care of people who have been tortured by the initial conditions they have to experience, so is experientialism can be one version of the explanation about it. The people's life are conditioned in certain chain of experiences and "science" can do rescue for it, so is what we can think about it. The things in science can be rescue purpose, for example, when we develop antivirus and made it to opensource, what is to support care for these people is science can do. Can I have explained more about what you think on this topic? I have posted replies askings about this topic, it would be reinterpretive because the topic is vulnerable by certain conditions about it (matter is always to leave possibility to torture the person who talked about it). The superimposition takes place when matter is understood in very different point of views about science, so I would like to ask more about the thing you have talked to it.
@AquariusGate
@AquariusGate 2 ай бұрын
@colorfulbookmark yes, thank you for you care to mean something and asking me to mean more. Nature being a responsiveness means that we must commit to a view, a perspective, and position we respond from. We cannot benignly experience life, it is an ongoing reaction and the responsivity is a trait that, I suspect, is part of all life and natural systems. When you asked about the arc, it is an instruction not a statement. The instructions about the arc should reveal something bout the nature of time when you have drawn the expressive event and followed the information flow I describe. Please let me know ways I have confused you and bow we might come to understand a shared meaning here.

@@AquariusGate I have experienced superimposition on my life, conditioned to it, and it would be rescued by the topic in this video scientific people can do it. The matter is concerned then people's innermind of different point of views departed from. The thing in matter, when some people think about it is small majority of things about it, it becomes as if global scale. We can do rescue not with the condition of commitment of view, so is working like framing and caused other people's participation and generalization or responsive impulses, inversed to it and that makes problem of officiality. It started from maternal effect, and when this is not told, it is problematic and when this is told, it is problemaic. So, scientists like this video can do rescue and to let the boy can do is solution, but "solution" in this case too problematic. The things in solution often remain things reinterpretive so is pure mind is laughable and it makes amplification, but in this condition too, the boy can do rescue purpose in science too, and the thing against it is what is not intended by the boy. The matter is same. The commitment is often framing according to my life experience.

Why allowed motion to go move in front?
@projectmalus

at ten minutes the time and resources to zero in on what matters to the person, sometimes the action from that loosens up sort of, going into math perception for instance as proof of a way to follow. An example is a food forest type permaculture gainful enterprise where instead of fencing the graph shows three linear projections of fruit tree planting, predator of the trees and predator of that predator which means those two level off and I just keep planting while retaining all the freedoms in the most ethical way, for the intelligence machine.

An attempt at quoting the conclusion ^.^ "when you give that up [subject predicate logic], when you move to relational being the primordial ground of being, then there's the potential for you to understand it, and i mean conformity - bind yourself to it - in what... Shellingberg (sp?) calls... the triple transcendent - is it ultimately real? yes... ultimately good? yes... ultimately transformative.. you have to enter into a relationship.. conforming to smth that exceeds your grasps and exceeds your attempt at getting cognitive closure on it by logic and speech... most good, most real, most salvific.. it saves you, it transforms you.. that's the sacred.. and that's the metaphysics of mattering"

John, when you said LLM‘s are parasites, well, couldn’t we say the same thing about children?
@henrytep8884

Well to be quite honest, John would argue that whether you see children as parasites or llm’s as parasites, you still want to treat them like a sentient agent that you would care for and that matters to you in a transcendental way. Meaning, you still treat them as if they are your children and see important to you and to themselves.
