William cracks me up! The Rap snacks were too funny and his face was great when you said it was a William’s Mll. 🤣 I absolutely love watching you with these mills! You truly light up when working with them and they are fascinating to see no matter what shape they are in. It’s awesome you get to do something you enjoy so much for a living! Mr. Greer was right when he said that without you that mill would never be used again but because of you many more folks can enjoy the benefits of its use. I am so glad your customers let you know what a meaningful service you provide and truly appreciate your vast knowledge and skills. I had to smile at the fact you were the only one who didn’t have on gloves, I don’t wear them much either when doing stuff even when it’s gross and I probably should because they get in my way and I like feeling whatever it is I’m working on. Hands wash easy! As always, I enjoyed the scenery in this video. Y’all are surrounded by such beautiful land! Thanks for letting us go along for the ride today!

I set out a few rabbit boxes with my Dad as a kid. I think that it was something that he had learned as a kid during the depression. It was fun to see someone that knows what they are. The work you do to restore a part of history by bringing these old mills back to life is something very special. Thank You!

We used to make rabbit boxes just like that too. Make them in the spring and let them set out and age in the weather. Set them in the winter. That meal paddle is good. Very cool. Can't wait to see that mill running Justin. Going to look, great buddy. Maybe some of my great, great, Grandfolks owned that mill company lol. My last name is Williams haha. Never know. I can't wait to see it on the trailer and set up. Good Job Justin and gang.

We live in the Arkansas River Valley. I am 62, and have never seen, or hear of a mill around here. There is one in the northwest corner of the state, because I have seen it on television. It is amazing how many mills still are in your area, and what good shape some are in. Very interesting. 😁

Oh wow Justin!! Love your band of Merry Misfits 😆 I pulled the summer beds today and planted a fall garden. I know it’s late, but the beds are on the southern side of the house, so maybe I’ll get something. Had to put up a short bunny fence. We have an electric bear/deer fence around the house. Enjoyed this so much, have a great weekend.

@@metcalfmills5679 Now I ain't a gonna publish that here. Based on the counties you keep mentioning, your bout 2.5 to 3 hrs away. I have a homestead group and a grist mill would be handy to have for our corn and small grains. Besides, I love antiques and can't stop collecting the past when things were built to last. Even my house is an antique. My papaw worked at the grist mill over the hill (that's about a long block away in todays terms from my farm) on Saturday mornings. It was a water driven mill that's long gone. Give somebody directions and tell 'em to turn where the old mill use to be. You ever give folks directions like that? I bet ya have. Have you ever caned any chairs with hickory? That would be another good Appalachian video. Appalachian American is a way of life! I look forward to your next word of the day. My granny used all them thare terms you been tellin about. Riddle me this one Justin, we still ain't figured out why granny would dissolve camphor squares in rubbing alcohol and then pour some on her head and rub it in. She was always doctoring with mustard plasters and such.

No no, where would your community tab/contact info be?
@michelefarling69342 жыл бұрын
@@metcalfmills5679 In order to find the "community tab", go to whatever KZbin page you are desiring to find, or just click on the picture next to his comment for finding his KZbin page. Up near the top there will be a string of words that runs across. 1st one is the HOME tab, next (just to the right) is VIDEOS, and next is usually VLOGS (or clips [some KZbin channels are set up a little different]), next is CHANNELS, I believe, and then there is a "community" tab. I think this may be what he is referring to. I sometimes look on each of these tabs just to see what other folks that I enjoy watching have on their tabs. I've found, for example, links to other really great, likeminded content creators pages. Hope that helps. BTW, I really have enjoyed all of your videos. Your southern accent and charm reminds me of my kin (great grandfather was a tobacco farmer in Wilson, NC. I spent some of the best times of my childhood up on the farm collecting eggs with my great Aunt, learning how to string beans, cook 'em, field peas (my goodness; most delicious things in the world...), feeding chickens, cows, pigs, and runnin' through the cow pasture on a home made go cart my cousin built. Awesome memories...Thank you for keeping history alive, reminding me of good times, and teaching all you know. Such a pleasure to view your work. Blessings to you and yours!
