Thanks for the video. I have 2 questions: 1- Is Meteor suitable for an enterprise financial application? 2- If the database is being constantly cached to the client side: a- Will it not run out of resources on the client side if database is huge? b- Is caching the whole database on each client machine a good practice when data is sensitive?

Good video. Where can I download this project from?
@An_Urban_monk8 жыл бұрын
Why are you reloading after every source change? Is that a bug on Windows or something? On Mac and Linux meteor monitors all source files and because of reactivity everything updates automagically in the browser. That is the point of meteor, live code. Also, am I hearing a a New England accent, maybe Boston or Worcester suburbs or something? I grew up in Northborough and your accent reminds me of home.

Check that your files aren't inside a folder named client to follow this tutorial. The latest meteor create adds folders separating the server and client side sections. forums.meteor.com/t/meteor-collection-insert-fail-insert-failed-method-not-found/12762/7

Why is Meteor an executable?
@jflecool8 жыл бұрын
The lastest doesnt have one JS for client and server but rather one file for each, which is kinda odd since this video is only 3 month old...
@MicroUrb8 жыл бұрын
hey cool, I noticed that too. The question for me would be in which one do we put the Tasks = new.Mongo.Collection('tasks'). Lucky for both of us I asked the developer community, so here is your answer: stackoverflow.com/questions/42145044/where-do-i-put-this-line-of-code-on-the-new-file-structure-of-meteor/42145265#42145265
@MicroUrb8 жыл бұрын
Even then, the answer does not resolve the ability to continue with this tutorial because you will probably get an error that says Tasks is not defined. So this video may just be completely obsolete.
@ZoranRavic6 жыл бұрын
The tutorial is not completely obsolete. Most of it is still applicable even 2 years later. However you do have to have basic understanding of the JavaScript language and modular programming before you watch this video or use Meteor. If you are getting a message that "X is not defined", in your case "Tasks", that means you did not import it.
@hoads198 жыл бұрын
Awesome video! Really helpful :) Can anyone explain the if(confirm('Delete Task?')) bit though? Don't get it!

it doesn't matter with the outdated, it's matter with the concept . The different is just [meteor create --release versionNumber] for the different version of meteor.
@MadalinIgnisca6 жыл бұрын
You don't need to trash a video with such a comment. Any possible self respected developer would see the publishing date imidiatly and realise that it was relevant x years ago. Well with JS, any tutorial becomes outdated already after it has been published, to be ironical...
@ahmedmubeen50107 жыл бұрын
you are just running and continuously add crashed courses into your playlist but you don't even try to update any single of them they all are outdated
