Metformin - My Successful TTC experience with PCOS

In this video i have shared my own personal experience with metformin on the dose prescribed by my doctor. Im not a medical professional and all information given is purely based on my on situation and experience!

After 7yrs ttc I was put on metformin and I also took inositol, finally had my little girl! For me I was on inositol for 4months and metformin for 2 months (continued the metformin until i was 17weeks pregnant to help avoid early loss). 2yrs later I'm Starting those meds again to try for my 2nd little miracle ❤🤞 sending all of you who are ttc lots of baby dust ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

I have PCOS as well and we got pregnant November 2015 a few months after taking Metformin too! We had a little boy. :)

@@suchandadev1444 I took it for about a month or so, then stopped due to some personal life issues and about 2 months later I was pregnant.

How long prior to the diagnosis were you trying ? I stumbled upon your video searching since I recently got put on the medication 500mg twice a day morning and night side affects are mild but definitely there thank you for your video ☺️

I was trying for about 18months before I had any kind of diagnosis but if been to the doctor several times during that period to ask why I wasn't having my cycle but none looked too far into it until I found my current doctor! Goodluck I hope this works for you as quickly as it did me! 🙂

I have pcos and hashimotos (thyroid disease)... i just started taking metformin 500mg and i eat a lot and still get super super sick if i try to go up to 1000mg... im super skinny so idk

Start with 250 for a month...then move 500

My doctor just prescribed me Metformin did u take birth control too cuz ion believe in birth control to boost my period

dallyas jones no I wasn’t taking any type of birth control. I had been trying to fall pregnant for quiet a while before I was put on metformin. I have heard of doctors that start you on both though as a way to regulate your cycle before TTCing.

How long did it take for your symptoms to stop?

From taking the metformin? They never really stopped they just eased off so the stomach issues became a lot less serve over time.

Piper and me - okay. How long did it take? This is day 5 for me and I have no idea if I’ll be able to go forward with it. However I really want my baby 😩 the nausea is just sooo bad. Thanks so much for responding by the way

It took a few weeks to be honest! I found upping my water intake helped a bunch and also taking half in the morning and half at night helped a little as well. It's well worth it I promise! If you can just get through the first few weeks it really does help regulate your cycle and get you so much closer to being able to have your baby! I've got 2 little girls now!

I have got PCOS too I've been trying for 2 yrs November. Had to repeat some testing to see how my levels are at the moment. Super nervous its my appointment next week to see the consultant they will decide on the 12th whether to put me on medication to start my ovulation or i might need key hole surgery as they are questioning whether I've got endometriosis aswell which I hope not. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 13 through blood test & scans. Then back in 2016 i had to have a blood test to see if i was ovulating as at the time I was on a 14 month period that wouldnt stop & they found out no eggs were being produced but since that day my cycle has terrible one minute I'm having 3 'periods' in one month then the next minute I'm missing a month or two without anything which isnt common for me. But ive never really had any problems over the years it was since I had my 14 month period back in 2016 ive had problems ever since, before then i was regular. Never felt so frustrated Thank you for sharing your story as its given me an insight what goes on etc Sad to say I've been trying to find as many stories as I can just to bring some kind of hope. This has been really useful just hearing other people success stories or just stories how they have got on, so again thank you for sharing your experience :)

Hana I’m so sorry you are having to go threw all of this! It’s definitely a heart breaking journey but the end result is definitely worth it! Hopefully you get some proper answers at you appointment and they have a solid plan for moving forward and you too will get to hold your own little bundle! 😘

did you take metformin nonstop for the year you were trying to conceive?

No I just took it from may until January when I fell pregnant. My doctor took me off it when I had my first doctor's app to confirm my pregnancy.
