Thank you so much. I was stuck with this principal with my lecturer's explanation and now I got this. You explained this a thousand times better than my lecturer. :)

Do a Google search on "product integral tables".

Awesome But why you did not include the internal virtual wok of shear although you already draw the shear diagram
@RYRYSULLY9 жыл бұрын
Is there a way to still use the formula with the moment diagrams area when you have a situation with different L values between the 2 diagrams for the real and virtual beams?
@tiffanyagyarko62953 жыл бұрын
why did you apply a unit couple instead of a unit load for your virtual moment diagram

I am confused I understand how you have internal moment at the top in compression and the bottom in tension, however at the origin (o point) you initial moment is constant which is Ma and you said your coordinate system is positive CCW. Why would Mo be negative then?
@SamI-yq8oc2 жыл бұрын
I know this is super old, but in case anyone else sees it - it's just the convention that shear moment diagrams follow. It's counter-intuitive, but you just gotta learn to roll with it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shear_and_moment_diagram#Normal_convention

are you using American system ? I'm going to take my structural mechanics exam in uk so I'm supposed to do it following uk system, is this going to make any difference? and thank you so much for your helpful videos
@structurefree10 жыл бұрын
i teach in the united states so i use both systems. the theory is the same, the process is the same, only the units are different.

Youre amazing dude, can you say where i can find the book of Ghali and Neville? Keep Going!!
@structurefree10 жыл бұрын
Cesar Matheus Thank you for the kind words. Man, I don't know if Ghali and Neville is still available in print. I wouldn't use that book unless you are Ph.D. student looking for a refresher or all-in-one theory book.

we say: 1*deflection= integral of m*M/EI dx but..also m*M/EI dx is equal to slope.so how is this formula derived? we found slope 45, but if we integarte again its 90/EI..so two formulas are true ..but how? am confused..
@gouravchakraborty14157 жыл бұрын
In the first case, unit moment is considered, which is uniform, hence, the result is 45....but in the second case(deflection) unit force is applied,( variable moment)...hence result is diiferent (90)
@tobeynguyen26137 жыл бұрын
What does he mean the real moment (M/EI) is a "curvature"?
