why does he disengage everytime after feign deathing at xavius?

disengage gives you reduced dmg taken i think thats why he does it im not sure though

he doesnt take any dmg due to feign deathing the cast, so theres no point for the damage reduction i think?

You can actually outrange xavius abilitys, he disengages back to outrange to avoid any other cast on him, when ever feign is back up he moves back in range to bait another ability.
