Methodology of rDNA Technology

In this lecture we are going to learn about the methodology of rDNA technology. It consists of the following 6 steps:
1) Isolation of the desired gene from the donor organism
2) Insertion of the desired gene into a cloning vector to form rDNA
3) Transfer of the rDNA into a suitable competent host cell
4) Selection of the transformed host cells
5) Multiplication of the transformed host cells
6) Obtaining the product from the transformed host cells
