Wow. That is impressive. I certainly hear the influence of Danny Carey, but the way you put your parts together and completely re-wrote the drum track is 100% YOU! I think you are an extremely talented musician. Yes, MUSICIAN. We drummers catch a lot of flak about that issue, but in the end, we are playing music, therefore, we drummers, are musicians. I rest my case. Moreover you my friend are one heck of a musician and drummer! Great work. I saw the last video with ONE and it was great as well. I'm as of now a subscriber. Keep it coming, brother!

Thank you so much! I think I’ll work on a video about this very subject. DC gets a lot of credit for being an incredible drummer but I don’t hear a lot of talk about how great of an overall musician he is. I love this concept, but to be honest, I think you’re trying WAY too hard to make your take different from what Lars did. IMO you really didn’t catch the feel of the song very much. You kept it too light in the beginning, and didn’t capture the steady march of James’ riffs. Like in the beginning, Danny probably WOULD keep the stabs to match the guitar as Lars does. I also felt like your part never really matched the intensity of the song at any point, and again, I think it’s because you’re just trying too hard to be different from the original. That’s just my opinion though! I’d love to hear more of your ideas, and will definitely keep watching this series! Just wanted to give some constructive criticism
@hoochiemantwinkletoes2 ай бұрын
Just wanted to add I like it a little better after listening to it again. The parts where you said you had trouble finding something that fits are the ones that sound the most out of place to me, but some other parts were cool. Definitely see what you were going for. I think The Thing That Should Not Be would be a good one to do in Danny’s style as it has a bit more ebbs and flows between the lighter parts and the heavier parts, whereas this one is kind of steady heavy marching throughout, which isn’t quite what he does

As I said loudly & clearly in the video: I do not think I am as good of a drummer as Danny Carey is. This series is being made for fun, and was partially inspired by Adam Jones of Tool liking the short form versions. I don’t think DC has seen them but I’m pretty sure he’d enjoy the attempt. If you don’t realize the level of respect for his abilities I would have to have to make this, I don’t know what to tell you.
