I know it’s a Metra vid and I love my hometown engines but seeing that old beast 31:02 come along was the best part! Miss when Amtrak relied on them

The E9, best sounding US locos EVER. Most others sound like tractors.

Actually they are BN E Units. Owned and Operated by BN. Metra is a transit Agency and a customer of BN.

Interesting I wonder why the reporting marks were not BN 9900, BN 9901, etc.

I don't see 9912, but it's hard to read the numbers on a few of the engines.

Dear Joseph: Thanks for this latest upload enjoyed it very much. Question, when these trains travel in reverse how do they control it from the other end? I have always been curious to know. Will you have more to come? Greetings.
@josephcipar3666 Жыл бұрын
Paul, Trains on this line travel from Chicago, west to Aurora. The engine is leading on the westbound train. Eastbound, the engine is pushing, and the engineer is at the east end in a cab car, controlling everything. And, yes, I have more videos to come. Thanks for your interest.

The train was also in 60 MPH causing her to flung over a railfan that recorded the exact reason of how Mary Theresa Wojtyla died. The number of that E9 was #9912.

They can't. The territory is FLAT and the trains are small. SD40-2s aren't as great as the boomers make them out to be.

@josephcipar3666 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, I don't know horns. You'll have to ask a horn guy.

Probably a Wabco E2 horn.

@T128ProductionsАй бұрын
No, these locomotives had two different horns. One is the infamous Leslie S2M (or possible RS2M) and the other one is a single chime air horn. Possibly a Leslie A-125, or a Wabco E2 since they sound similar when blown.
