Not ALL music is about technicality. Good music is GOOD MUSIC. It doesn't matter is they're playing 100 chords a second... if it sounds cool, and you enjoy it, then you're doing your job. for the guitar part use your ears or search for a tab, on the effects' side you need a distortion/overdrive pedal, a digital delay (e.g. Boss DD-3) and a bit sense on tweaking its knobs. Not that hard, but really effective.
