Metro 2033 Redux with a modified FOV and Lossless Scaling

I altered the FOV to suit my widescreen preferences and also used the Lossless Scaling app to get a super smooth experience with very crisp visuals.

lossless scaling wont sharpen my game, what version are you using or do you have any tips to try?

I had to make some changes to the "C:\Users\{Your User Name Here}\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033\11000010083e52e\user.cfg" file. I changed "r_fullscreen" to "off" and also modified the FOV by setting "r_base_fov" to an appropriate vertical FOV value for my resolution. I had a small band across the bottom after altering the FOV, so I removed this by deducting 30 vertical pixels from "r_res_vert". Lossless Scaling only works on a windowed mode or borderless mode. To change the FOV, you need to use this calculator instacalc.com/7240, enter your width, height and then enter your desired horizontal FOV and then read off the "Calculated Vertical FOV" that is generated. Metro 2033 uses that number. You should also turn off v-sync in-game as this forces the game to always lock to 60 FPS and not a higher FPS. Using Lossless Scaling with LSI + Sharpening of 2 will make the image tack sharp!
