Hoi Huey, mooi dat je een film hebt gemaakt van de VAL. Een perfect OV systeem dat al sinds de jaren '80 probleemloos miljoenen reizigers vervoert. Jammer genoeg hebben de (lokale) Nederlandse overheden niet de verbeeldingskracht van de Fransen, anders hadden we hier al lang automatische metro's gehad.

Friday 12 November 2004 I visited Lille on a day journey from Brussels, and rode both metro lines. These were in service long before the RoissyVAL at CDG. These have a different initial acceleration and braking sound, from the metro used in Copenhagen, Denmark. Somehow I never managed to find the tram platforms at either Lille Gare de Flandres or Lille Gare Europe, but I believe if I have more time in Lille, I might be able to take the tram.

Next time ask someone to guide you, and this is the first automatic metro in the world so of course it was there before the roissyval

Nope Port island line in Kobe is the first driveless metro in the world Toulouse metro was mde in 1993 and they are gonna have theire 3rd line and yet the lille metro created In 1981 is stuck in its 52meters extension for the trains they should have done the same as toulouse. But instead they choosed alstom

There are part where the VALs can accelerate up to 68km/h but its stays in 34km/h so its not that fast because the future toulouse line C metro could possibly reach up to 110km/h+ just like the Paris metro

Mooie video. De platformen zijn intussen lang genoeg voor gekoppelde stellen van 2 x 26m. Alleen blijft de omschakeling naar de VAL XL in Lille maar op de lange baan geschoven te worden. In Toulouse zijn de gekoppelde VALs intussen al een tijdje in gebruik.

I absolutely *love* these! Le inspiration de le VAL c'est un solution magnifique pour le rèsaus urbain tout le monde! 🚈🇫🇷❤‍🔥🌍🤘💨 But as a British viewer it also brings me to tears that our curséd _Cup of Tea_ 🫖 rule¹ means it's unlikely we'll ever see anything of this order built here. We might've invented the railway, but by Odin we need to beg/borrow/steal a copy of the book that has all the perfect upgrades the French have developed for it in the hundred years since! 🚄💨📚🇫🇷💙 (¹ - The _Cup of Tea_ 🫖 rule being an apparent British Standard for determining how fast trains „should“ accelerate and brake, by reference to the likelihood of spilling ones tea. French solutions automatically blow this out of the water for being too refreshingly violent 🤘 and we British, sadly, are too damned wussy to consider transportation systems where the performance is so good it (literally) knocks you off of your feet!)

Many City using the val system is switching to alstom. VAL is not a good system anymore
