Obviously, the best way to get to the beach is on the tram. It was amazing seeing all those cars looking and waiting for a place to park. Quick question: when your tram is fully occupied with standing room only passengers, can you feel that extra weight in the performance (acceleration, braking) of the tram? Or is the extra weight insignificant to the performance?

@ilex4717 ай бұрын
I'n not sure I understand your question. Have you never heard about switches? It's a moveable piece of track that directs the vehicle one way or the other. On modern tramroutes, the system recognizes the route the vehicle is on, and switches accordingly. In the old days, the switches had to be changed manually by the driver with a long crowbar.
@arfanvlk93516 ай бұрын
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railroad_switch?wprov=sfla1
@QemeH6 ай бұрын
If you meant how the switches are _controlled_ then the answer is: the tram sends a programmable code out that tells the switch what line the tram is serving and the switch then turns to the correct position automatically (this can be overridden or initiated manually if necessary).

@damianc.0.6816 ай бұрын
I believe it is a power controller with the hand. It’s how it’s operated here in the UK. Also, the +6 1/2 is late by 6 and a half minutes so yes that is to do with how late/early you are. Edit: after reviewing the footage I believe it is pedals on this particular unit and not a power handle
@Ztbmrc16 ай бұрын
@@damianc.0.681 Yes you are right. In another of his videos, where he begins setup up the tram in the hanger, and than drives it through Den Haag to his beginning station, you can clearly see it is controlled by pedals: one on the right for power and on the left for brakes, similar as in a car. And he confirmed after me him asking in the comment, that the indication on the is indeed an indication of being late (+), on time (0) or early (-). Thanks for your reply!
