The "soft lock" part can be handled with the underwater bomb jump glitch too. I have tried it and you can gain enough height to start space jumping through the air. Still, it's easier and faster to use a shinespark there. But thanks for a very nice and detailed tutorial!

Yeah I went ahead and got the screw attack before finishing the video, and subsequently trapped myself there. Can confirm, water bomb works for escaping there

You can’t break the door at 12:20 because on the other side is the red barrier (signifying there’s a power up).

The skrew attack section worls like this while under water u gain a little extra height if u wait a sec to hit the jump button again so by grinding up against the corner it stalls u in the air a bit allowing u to gain that extra height

I just used a sequence break to get the Gravity Suit... Without Space Jump or Screw Attack lmao. I had to fight Experiment z57 without those on hard mode, basically it was RNG but I still got it. And I had to bypass some Space Jump parts with infinite morph bomb jumps. What a blast it was lmao.

Nice. That's what the speedrun route looked like before. This early Space Jump lets you skip the Z-57 boss and the frozen part of Artaria altogether.

For some reason I can't maintain that(10:14) distance with the edge, as soon as I hit it, It lowers my jump height then I have to reset it

well actually you can shinespark out of a spin jump, just press y+b then a direction. it works in water and lava and stuff like that

That part that you're talking about after you get the screw attack and I also got stuck but however I did that bomb glitch that you're talkin about and I was able to get myself out of being stuck and it actually works too but you got to time it right.

You can activate a shinespark while spinning in the air if you press b+y at the same time little easier to do.

Is that because firing a beam also cancels the spin? If that's the case, wouldn't it be frame perfect?

@@TanukiTussle I never fail it and it's really easy but yes I believe it's because firing the beam forces you to stop spinning

Honestly for the early screw attack part, you should have mentioned that the "right feel" for that trick involves also dipping back down under the water a little bit to start the first jump before trying the jump out of water cause that's what I was messing up on before I figured it out.

I did mention that you need to graze the rock's corner while space jumping to the left, so that would by proxy mean you'd have to be under the water's surface to the right before jumping anyway. I don't really know exactly what's making it work, and I don't want to say something is necessary if it might not be, so I kind of just wanted to let the gameplay do most of the talking on that part. Regardless, I'm glad you got it.

I'm not a speed runner or a completionist, but I did take the early screwattack and purposely chose not to go after the gravity suit right away to explore... and boy was i able to go places. (even the Hanubia) - I haven't beaten the game yet because I've been enjoying exploring, and sequence breaking just for the heck of it. So I don't know if fighting the Razor Beak (or if you can get to him) without the Gravity suit is a good idea or not, but a lot of sequence break bypassing can be done after obtaining the Screwattack. If you do get the Gravity suit, you can also bypass the whole frozen planet section game by not taking the Elevator to Atraria from Burenia.

its not soft lock you have to use your bomb trick to get out of water and space jump . you did it twice to get there and now you forget. sigh

The two instances in which I used the underwater bomb glitch were both near a grabbable ledge. Using the same glitch to get out of the "softlock" part is a lot harder due to there being no ledges.
