My random two cents on the music in dread, I don't think its bad, it just doesn't slap as much as one would expect due to the other games having banger music.

So the reason you have to hold ZR+ZL+dpad up to change suits is because in some situations, the game will crash if the suit updates on Samus' model. One good example is if you are speedboosting or have a shinespark charged. If that happens and you grabbed a suit upgrade, and the game just applied it automatically, it will crash. So they give you the button combo so that you can manually update the suit when you have Samus in a good state. It's not a problem in the vanilla game because the game resets Samus' state for the cutscene that plays before both suit upgrades.

As someone who randos this game very often, it's really endearing to see Oats' memory come back with each progressive Rando. The wheels are turning, it's noticeable. Very entertaining.

Have you tried the new randomized elevators setting? It's really been throwing me for a loop but it's helped make it even more interesting. For example, the last seed I played I never found Screw Attack. Usually it's required because you have to go through Hanubia to get to Itorash, but you can't get to Hanubia without Screw Attack. The Cataris -> Dairon tram was the transport that led to Itorash so Hanubia was completely side-stepped.

1:28:00 - Blobs aren't inconsistent to blow up with power bombs, as in if you blow one up with one, it will always work, 100% of the time (at least in my 60+ seeds I've played so far). The inconsistency comes from which blobs can be destroyed with a power bomb. So you didn't get lucky in that they blew up, you got lucky that you tried it and those blobs are vulnerable to power bombs. I can't speak for as of if it's in logic or not, but the chatter could be correct on that part at least. There are knowledge checks you can enable in the settings, which does include knowing you can open charge doors and kill Enky's with them, so perhaps a similar setting exists for blobs and I just don't remember it.

hey, not sure if this is still a starter preset seed but since you're trying to follow logic, note that PBs opening charge doors is out of logic (requires beginner knowledge). as well as that pseudo at 11:40 lmao. what i think it wants you to do here (spoiler hidden in see more, hopefully): take red tele to cataris. if you have morph and are going through that room, always take it just to peek the item. the generator really likes to put stuff there because it sees it's morph-locked, and weighs it heavier.

nevermind, nothing in cat would've helped and artaria is exhausted without PBing charge doors so it seems like that trick was on. miscellaneous timestamped commentary from someone that knows rando: 29:24 - close. I think you realize burenia / green requires speed booster to go left and speed booster to shortcut to gravity suit tower/toilet bowl, but there is one item right by where you charge speed booster for the puzzle. it's good that you recognized the PB escape from ghavoran green back up! 35:26 - it does let you peek two items which is pretty useful 58:30 - you've basically come to the same routing i would've (check grapple, purple to kraid, red to yellow to gravity). good job I can tell you're a lot better at this point. 58:49 - yeah i agree with this commentary, dread actually did it really well. pretty much all the patches were either fixing crashes (that black X outside elun, the PB escape crash) or removing the invincibility glitch which was something casuals had accidentally activated. if this was retro they would've patched out pseudo and clipping and all the other fun stuff that's been known since launch. 1:24:32 - you can skip the platforms by cross bombing in midair. the ones with a 3-high ceiling are impossible without flash shift, shinesparking through, the IBJ from speedrun routes, or cross bombing through. 1:27:10 - oh. i guess that's a thing too. learn something new every day, didn't think a PB would reach down there. END - i couldn't see what you're doing behind the end cards but you can go through the ceiling to get into the rest of dairon without speed. also, cloak is in logic now that you have cross, the grapple is just for a shortcut to the top emmi zone exit since crumble blocks are in the way.
