Metroid Fusion is what I believe to be the first major title that gravitated away from the classic Metroid Formula, launching in 2002 along side of another anomaly of the series, Retro Studios' Metroid Prime. On the surface, Fusion is your standard Metroid title, but at its core...it is arguably one of the best and one of my new favorites upon my most recent revisiting.

07:09 there is a scripting error here. The missile is most definitely not the first upgrade you get in the majority of Metroid games; typically it's the second actually. So this is your chance to roast me for being a fucking moron. Thanks for watching, though.

Fusion was the first metroid game i played way back in 2013 as i've played the other 2 games i can see why it can be disliked but for what the game did set out to do it did just that and excelled only at the sacrifice of the nonlinearity but it worked made a good game from it

I don't know if I'd say Fusion is my favorite but it definitely is fantastic. I do think its my favorite in terms of its artistic style but I'm actually more of a Prime Trilogy kind of guy. Metroid is great regardless though, it's just that Prime was kind of a "new" way of seeing Metroid if you will and for me it just kind of stuck.
