Needed this. The leftward energy tank and that missile jump are evil. Flat out evil. I did find a super handy trick for the missile jump however; players can jump mid-air post-bomb jump. Basically, enter ball, lay a bomb, bomb jump, unmorph, press jump /THEN/ move around where desired. You won't jump if you move around before pressing jump. You can also do this without bomb jumping if you're just falling while in morph, but for this jump I recommend doing that. As for the energy tank access (that large wall in the room with all those jumpers), I find that you can freeze an enemy somewhat close to the area, and double bomb jump onto it instead of having to get the enemies precisely one bomb jump in distance.

5:25 I HATE that jump. If you miss it, you have to go alllllll the way around the whole hideout to get back to the ledge. And it takes multiple tries, too. I just used the Midair Jump glitch after failing like 20 times

Something to note about the screw attack is that the block before you hit the floor level where you jumped the screw attack stops. Like if samus' hit box is 2 blocks high and there's a zoomer on the ground which is one, screw attacking it will not work. Also when you somersault your hit box is decreased a bit. It's barely anything but if there's a pixel jump you just can't make that can help. In super metroid too and jumping from a duck provides the boost too. It's a trick I use in Maridia.

Ridley's Hideout scared the hell out of me when I was younger. It's the feels and the atmosphere, it reminds of Monolith Burger from Space Quest 3.

Another way to beat Ridley with the wave beam is to stand at the far left in front of the door and fire away. The fireballs he breaths will block some of your beams, but you are dealt no damage.

@haingi1 cont. When you change areas or rooms where one uses a different C-set, it changes when it registers you going through the door, not when you're all the way through, and changes colors. This same thing is what changes Samus's color during the screw attack, or whenever an enemy takes damage.

The wall at 3:24 I always used bombs to get over it on all my play throughs when I was a kid 🤣 it was always a minor pain in the but to time all your bombs to get up over it! I always hated Ridley’s Hideout for that reason 🤦‍♂️I’m gonna bust out my ancient NES and play through it again just to go under 😂

I've noticed that the screw attack only works until you reach the height you started at, on the way down. So if you Screw Attack off a high platform, the screw attack will only work until you fall past the position of the platform you jumped from. make any sense?

The best way to defeat Ridley (If his fire balls flow down wards so you can't stand on the block in front of him) is to screw you attack into him. Just make sure you summersult past him or you'll take damage. The best way to get into the door with the block to jump on is to role into a ball, fall off the edge, push up immediately, then jump in mid-air and push right.
