I think prime 2 and 3 were just planned for an hd uprez and out the door to hype for 4, but I also feel that the unexpected success of prime 1 remastered could have spurred them into giving 2&3 the full workover now as well.

The thing about Metroid 6 though, is the guy behind Metroid said that Dread was the end of the story...Dread was them finally finishing Samus's adventure. So they would have to make a whole new adventure/story to progress.

This February Nintendo Direct will reveal Metroid Prime Remastered 2 + 3, but the games will indeed be fully remastered. This is because the games would be a graphical letdown compared to what was done in 1 Remastered, even with an HD up-res. Further, the later Prime games didn't sell as much as the first one, so Nintendo will release both, fully remastered, to ramp up the sales, while at the same time completing the background leading up to Prime 4 and ramping up the hype. We will not see anything from Prime 4 this February. Prime 4 will be revealed properly come summer, so there is some marketing space between 2+3 Remastered and 4. Prime 4 will release holidays 2024 on Switch 1, along with the next generation Switch (and an upscaled version of Prime 4 as a launch title). Furthermore, as the commenter on this video stated, Metroid as a series doesn't yet sell as well as Mario or Zelda; clearly Nintendo aims to make Metroid a larger franchise on par with other IPs. As such, Prime 4 will dual release as the final mainline Switch game and a Switch 2 launch title, so the amount of marketing, sales and hype hit fever pitch. The amount of Switch 1's that have sold are now at their highest, so there will be maximum exposure from both the current gen, and as a hyped up launch title for the next gen.

Unfortunately I think Ninty is going with the much cheaper "Silent Hill HD Collection" type of HD Remake for Prime 2 and 3... which is a damn shame, because 2's art is outstanding, and 3 as well, but 2 really did some of the coolest stuff I've ever seen. I really wish Prime 2 got the Prime Remastered treatment, it certainly deserves it. But I don't think it's happening.

It would totally make sense if we got Prime 2 Remastered in February, since it would have been a year since Prime 1 Remastered came out. I had an idea actually that next year around the same time we would get Prime 3 Remastered, and then for the holidays we would get the big boy game of Metroid Prime 4. Just a theory. I feel like they can release Prime 4 at any time, hopefully sooner rather than later. But they could totally hold it off for next year in 2025 if they wanted to, if it's not ready QUITE yet.

I think at this point if they released just an upres of prime 2 and 3 after so long it would be a major let down, consideting they could have spread out both remasters much better if Prime 4 is indeed coming this year. Makes no sense for Nintendo to have Prime 1 Remastered looking AMAZING, then have Prime 2 and 3 looking meh, then Prime 4 blowing everything away lol. Talk about all over the map. Prime 2 should have the same treatment as Prime 1 as they were both Gamecube games...Prime 3 on the other hand could simply just have a Skyward Sword HD treatment if they are short on time for fully remastering it. Metroid Prime 4 should not come out. It was announced nearly 7 years ago. Now all Metroidfans have so high expectations that Retro Studios maybe is not able to meet. 7 Years and no Prime 4, no game in History needed 7 Years of devlopment. would you hear my guessing? Prime 4 is already finalized like one year ago. But they are holding it back because of the next console. Metroid Prime 2 remaster is possible, but i think 3 will not coming out. How will you change the controls of Prime 3 to the Switch? Nearly impossible, but i´m maybe wrong about that. And one thing i hope, that Nintendo will drop Mercury Steam for another Metroid Game. Metroid for me died because of the melee attacks. Beams are nearly useless, run, melee, shoot. Regardless of the beam, the enemy will die. Thats boring

I'm a new METROID Fan My First METROID Game what I've played was SUPER METROID on SUPER NINTENDO CLASSIC MINI what I got in My Birthday in 2018 5 Years ago, been a METROID Fan since that. We have NINTENDO WII but sadly We don't have METROID Games on WII like METROID 1-3 and on NINTENDO 3DS I don't have METROID SAMUS RETURNS but would LOVE to buy (a Physical Version of METROID SAMUS RETURN for 3DS because RIP 3DS and WII U éSHOPS defienitily I'm gonna miss 3DS éSHOP.) Two Years ago in 2021 when METROID DREAD came out I was HYPED First but when I saw it's Gameplay didin't was HYPE anymore but it's a Good New 2D METROID Game and defienitily it's Story is AMAZING, maybe I'm buy and play it some Day. But for Now in 2023 I was really EXCITED of METROID PRIME REMASTERED what came in Ferbruary and I bought it in July My Summer Vacation, it's so AWESOME First METROID PRIME got REMASTERED Version for NINTENDO SWITCH, it's really a GOOD Game and it's Price only 40€ is a Perfecto for NINTENDO SWITCH Game what I was surprised when I saw it's Price in a Shop. I'm not sure about of a METROID CLASSIC COLLECTION because there is a Classic Metroid Games in NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE SYSTEM but it would be NICE to see it on a Physical Game.
