As always like the fight in the first game of this series, shoot his mouth to make him back off and reveal his weak point on his chest...his Phazon weak point, which means Hypermode is in order.
He has a wide variety of attacks:
1) He can shoot projectiles at you. These can be shot to recover health and ammunition.
2) He can stomp the ground to create shockwaves. With his armor on, he can further expand the range of this shockwave with horizontal and vertical energy currents.
3) He can ram at you. You have a very small window to stun him before he rushes ahead.
4) He can shoot a quick energy blast.
5) He can release a very long trail of flames that you must jump over.
6) He can sweep his tail around all over the area...which he can combine with his fire breath to make you want to jump over.
7) If you stand too close, he'll try to bite you.
8) He can fly around the arena's four holes and blast you with energy blasts.
Once you reduce his health lower than 75%, he'll put on a Phazon armor. After stunning him, you need to use the X-Ray Visor to disassemble that armor from its two sides to reveal his weak point again.
However, be mindful that he will try to crush you once his glowing weak point is exposed after this. Good thing Hypermode negates all damage.
Hyper Grapple
During Hypermode, you can destroy special Phazon matter by overloading them with your grapple.
Now that you've destroyed the last seed, why don't you go around the galaxy collecting every single pickup left?

@@yerman0564 No, that was another Space Pirate vessel. That took place in the manga, which would be about 15 years before Zero Mission. Yes, he was wounded from that incident, so he about eating the fresh corpses left from.the K2L raid.

The way he tries to bite samus just shows that the phazon has made him a mindless beast of pure anger. Most of the time he tries to beam samus but this fight shows he's just a prisoner to the phazon but gladly accepts this.

3 was easily my favorite Prime in the trilogy. those wii pointer & nunchuck controls were revolutionary and still beat out anything on Switch & PS5. It just sucks that you can only remember bits and pieces of your past video game experiences! :P

You ever notice how at this point in the game both Ridley and Samus are at near critical levels of Phazon corruption and both are pieced together with mechanical parts (well, Samus’s suit is anyway). What does it mean? Probably nothing but it’s just something a I’ve noticed.

It's been a couple years since I played Corruption, but I remember the Grapple Voltage upgrade making Phase 1 of this fight insanely quick by sending energy straight into him. If I'm remembering the correct fight, that is.

There are a lot of shadows at 18:05. None of them are Ridley though. The only people I've ever seen claim that Ridley has to survive the explosion are half-joking about it. The joke being "the explosion wasn't on screen, so clearly he survives it" ("didn't see it = didn't happen") combined with, you know, the fact he canonically survives anyway

I came here to see how Ridley "dies" each time by chronological order. Zero Mission he just explodes into nothing (gonna assume it was a stylistic choice), Prime he falls and we don't see a corpse, Corruption he explodes into a wave of Phazon (he could've crawled away when the camera was on Samus I suppose), SR he collapses. Super is the final and true death where he turns into giblets, and if I had to guess the in game doesn't reflect it as well as how grisly it probably was. Other M says she was COVERED in Ridley blood and organic matter after their last battle, so my interpretation always was that she was so pissed she literally ripped him to shreds to guarantee he couldn't regenerate.

The Hyper Grapple does have its uses, especially when on Phaaze where it's the easiest way to get rid of energy build-up.

I recently came up with a theory that Meta Ridley and Ridley from the 2D games are two separate Ridleys as Prime Ridley tends to be more animalistic and less in control of the space pirates.

Not gonna lie, Aura, Ridley is the best boss I've seen, but good Lord..! Ridley getting killed and somehow come back to live over and over and over and over, how the heck does he keep coming back? Is he indestructible or something? I wouldn't be surprised if we get to see him in Metroid Dread. Are you excited for Metroid Dread, and are we going to see Ridley appear in Dread? :D
