Also when you realise the genius they put into the level design due to the fact you can just BARELY make your way to the elevator shaft using the double-jump, only to realise the path ahead is just out of reach. That's hands-down terrific design IMHO; converying that you need to upgrade your equipment in order to advance through clever map layout alone and not by spelling it out for you or dumbing it down.
@Nurvez0710 жыл бұрын
Carl Luc Campbell This. This is exactly the things that developers need to keep in mind when making a video-game. Saying it's on the sad side would be more accurate than to say it's on the happy side of things (though it might make a listener happy sometimes), but I actually feel it pushes me into a space where I'm a little "above" pure sadness (not in the sense of being happier, but in the sense of being detachment or acceptance, though of an incomplete form, leading to sentimentality).

Metroid prime is one of those series that I've never said; they could have done so much more. Learning about the world using the scan visor made me feel like a detective, like I was a hunter, tracking prey. The space pirates are so fleshed out, I feel like I know their culture, like I could predict what they'd do next. The only time I felt taken out was when the loading went on behind the doors for too long. And when I bought the trilogy, it got even better. My only gripes were when I forgot where to go next, being unable to go back and scan certain enemies after a certain point, and by metroid prime 3, they were handing you new power ups like participation awards. Stacking the beams in Corruption meant I didn't have to fiddle with switching beams just to do some back-tracking, and samus' ship is the coolest of any console game to date because I can interact with it. Funny how good game design these days basically means catching up to Nintendo.

@axelkusanagi41398 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and the final beam was really awesome, with the power to shoot through walls. It's less overpowered in context. You save a lot of time not switching beams constantly.
@jamalix-music8 жыл бұрын
+Axel Kusanagi (AXELXu7) Actually I wanted to have the ability to switch beams, because it makes fights more interesting in my opinion. If certain enemies have one beam as a weakness, I can experiment around and get to look at all the nice colours, instead of only having the Nova Beam at the end. But I guess that's just my taste :)

Can you not see the themes in this game? - How beautiful yet how powerful nature is. The frigate stored organisms that were experimented on and used as bioweapons. A thing that makes Metroid better then Zelda: In Metroid, when you fught against an enemy, the music does not change, just for bosses and if many space pirates get to your location. In Zelda, for example when I enjoyed the piano music when Midna is almost dead, I freaked out everytime an enemy gets near my position, because of the changing music. Best solution in (e.g.) Pikmin, the normal music will be 'upgraded' by just one instrument.

I simply loved how the Frigate Orpheon looked underwater while the ship was grounded. I have to say it was brilliantly placed in this map, since I thought the desolate frigate blended in with Tallon Overworld's environment quite nicely. It gave you a different perspective of the craft in contrast than when it was still alive and in space. That, and how it successfully mimicked Super Metroid's "Wrecked Ship" scenario. Very, very beautiful. The sense of rediscovering, wonder, and peace are just welded togeather to make this perfect song. It almost makes me want to cry, that is how relaxing this song is

For me, the best moment of this place was the first time I stepped foot in the Reactor, fell all the way down, and had a Pirate missile explode two feet in front of me. It is underwater that the reflection of Samus' face reflects brightest and the best level of detail is visible. From that moment on, every last ounce of doubt was removed. This was a worthy successor to Super Metroid. I am a lucky man to have played both games in the year they came out, and every year since then!

I've played many of the series, but Prime (one) will always and forever be my favorite. Half the experience was the music imo. Still haven't beat Prime 3....

Everytime I hear this it takes me back. Back to a time when I was younger and life was care free. No stress, not too much work, a simple childhood. Metroid is one of those games that stays with you.

Anyone feel like there should be a stage in smash bros. of this with this exact same theme
@iownalx2310 жыл бұрын
there should be more prime inspired content in smash. frigate orpheon was ok with the parasite queen but that only made me want more, maybe in the next smash since it appears there isnt any new metroid prime stuff.

iownalx23 What if they made a stage that takes place on the impact crater
@DT-Sabbath5 жыл бұрын
They could make a stage in like The Impact Crater and have the Metroid Prime randomly hit the players or Brryo or Pazze
@unijimmy275 жыл бұрын
Now you can make a stage similar to that with Stage builder that just came out. :D However, you couldn't use this song

@@unijimmy27 I mean they already have the Frigate Orpheon in Smash. There *is* a lack of water though

What i love most about the music is that the music is fused with a synthesizer. The mix between a piano, sci fi effects, and the whole environment gave what many players called the unique feeling. There are few words that can ''explain'' metroid prime. And unique is one of them.

Yes. In the frigate when you enter it in the very beginning, there is something mentioning the Frigate Orpheon was in orbit above Tallon IV for 0-G experiments or something like that.

why is everybody hating the phazon-mines? it was one of the best and intense levels for me =)
@Grexius8 жыл бұрын
I mostly disliked it for it's lack of save-points.
@gamingawesomeness2227 жыл бұрын
To me, phazon miens is where the game's age REALLY shows. Lack of save points forcign you to spend 1 hour per go (god help you if you die), but not a lot of people have that time anymore. Plus, tricky platforming, lots of metroids, and enough button mashing trying to kill the gauntlet of ambushes to give god of war a run for its money.

Geo-Fry Exactly. If you aren't a pleb and have the original GameCube release, you can even do the rapid-fire missile glitch; makes anything susceptible to missiles a breeze, let me tell you what.

Super Epic Gamer no being a “gamer” is hated so much because of r/gaming users and people who share Joker quotes.

I always felt that this trilogy had a bit more to it then just gameplay, music, and controls. Even though there is no talking (In most of the games and even in the third there isn't a ton) it still has a huge impact on your emotion. It really messes with your mind in a good way, this level to me always represented two things. It represented the effects of war, destruction and greed. But it also represented to always get up and fight. The second is toggled by the two space pirates in the mainroom

Everytime I hop on the computer. I always come straight to this song. I dont care if I have an exam the next day or just something else important. This song will always get me. When I listen to this, I lose sight of everything and just lax out. Its such a calmful tune and brings tears to my eyes. I cant wait to buy the trilogy pack for the Wii. Hope its exactly the same as the Gamecube version.
