@@Leee275 remember the bad conditions in making prime 1 they had to work 80-100 hour work weeks to get the game in time took 6 months to make the first part of the game and had a year left to make anything else according to james dargie the senior artist of the company another example andrew jones the concept artist of the game had to sleep in the office and continue to work after waking up it’s a bloody miracle that the first prime game is considered one of the best metroid games ever made despite it’s development

Hoping anyone at Retro Studios reads this: Thank you guys for making the Prime series with so much love and dedication. While I believe Prime2 was a bit of a bump on your road (I hated the light and dark mechanic, especially the dark world devoid of personality and good music) it was still good. Prime1 and Prime3 on the other hand, especially Prime1 are some of the best adventure games I have ever played. I own all 3 Primes so Im hesitant about double dipping. I would like Prime 1 on my Wii only

Back in 2005, I played Metroid Prime few months after finishing Halo on pc and I was mind blown. It was MUCH better than halo. This game is meant to be played with the gamecube controller. It's open world Action-FPS was innovative at the time and it's sountrack is fantastic. I can honestly say that Retro Studio is the new RARE of Nintendo.

The orginal idea behind the first Metroid on NES was to combine the platforming of Mario and the puzzles and combat of Zelda. That still applies today.

No way. Yeah they made the Prime trilogy and DKCR. But Rare made Killer Instinct, the original DKC's, DK64, Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Conker, Diddy Kong Racing, Battletoads etc.

Let's see........Metroid Prime Trilogy. Which was incredible. Donkey Kong Country Returns. Which was great agruably a better reboot the New Mario Bros Wii (there is clearly more detail at least). and I heard that they helped develop Mario Kart 7 Why don't we hear about Retro Studios more often!?!

I totally agree with you actually! Rare was awesome, I even liked Starfox Adventures lol. But Rare lost me as a fan when they went to Microsoft and started making really bad sequels of the N64 games and Kinect casual games. I'm hoping Retro brings back that kind of nostalgia that we got when we played Goldeneye and Banjo-Kazooie.

Aww, Metroid M was still ok. I first thought it would continue the Prime formula, so you can imagine my chagrin when it asked me to detach the nunchuck and hold the controller sideways. Then Japanese Samus had too much dialog and everything seemed too different...but it grew on me, and the game WAS designed around it. It didn't hurt to see all my nostalgic enemies rendered in 3-D either, and after I finally understood the controls it was actually pretty damn fun. It was no Prime, but still good.

you know, everyone got pretty hyped about the conduit coming to give the wii an FPS. but when i played it i really wasn't impressed. What I think everyone forgot about was metroid prime 3 had been there for a while, and that was good! sure it didn't have as many weapons as a traditional FPS, but the gun you had worked.

I'm often disappointed with Western developers. they often have no problems with releasing a game full of bugs. Most get patched eventually. But Metroid Prime was extremely polished, just looking at the game in motion and hearing the sound design gives me goosebumps. And never did I encounter any form of bugs, and the controls felt very smooth. The game is really up to Japanese standards.

All of the metroid games are incredible. I cannot give a higher reccomendation to the Prime Trilogy on Wii. Beyond that, if you like the 3D ones, chances are you'll like the 2D ones. Get Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid: Fusion for $5 each at Gamestop. You should also get Super Metroid off the Vitrtual console. Don't start with that though. I'd start with Prime and then Fusion honestly.

Here's why: Every good game does not only has to have good gameplay and graphics. It must also have a really good story. The Metroid Prime story was all about Phanzon. And since Samus destroyed the planet Phaaze on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption all the Phanzon in the galaxy was rendered inert. In other words, no more phanzon The end of Phanzon = The end of the story = The end of the Metroid Prime Series. There will be more Metroid games, but the Metroid Prime seires is over. Understood?

Because, metroid prime was all about phazon. In the third game, phaaze was destroyed and all phazon was rendered useless. It did nothing since its life force was destroyed.
