I love that, after seven years of disappointment and heartbreak, this feels like the Metroid series is finally waking up, like Han Solo out of Carbonite. Finally opening its eyes, grasping at the light, remembering who and what it is. This also feels like Mercury Steam saluting the game that they have the honor and the privilege to remake.

it's Nintendo's official remake of Metroid 2 Return of Samus, it's one of the most important game in the series from a story perspective but was stuck on the original gameboy AM2R is another great remake of the same game, made by fans over the course of a decade and released for free in 2016, but Nintendo struck them down Both are amazing remakes that take Metroid 2 to different perspectives AM2R being a remake that brings it up to par or even better than the other 2D Metroids, with a graphical quality similar to Sonic Mania Metroid Samus Returns being a remake that brings 2D Metroid to a more evolved and adapted form for modern audiences while still staying true to what made Metroid what it is

I just barely beat this Game on Normal Difficulty and got all the Items, one thing that was spoiled (Spoiler Alert) for me was I was looking at the Soundtrack playlist and saw Ridley's Theme, and right than I was like well Ridley is in it, but I thought he would be before the Metroid Queen and not after. The fight with him is pretty damn epic, it took me maybe 5 or 6 trys to finaly whoop his Pirate Ass. If I did not see that his theme was on the Soundtrack, it would have been a pretty good twist. He does not have a obnoxious screech in this one at least haha. Also I never actually beat the Original Game, but I knew the Queen Metroid was the last boss and I played that part from when my older brother at the time had gotten that far in the Game, but I loved the twist ending in this oficial remake :).

It took me a bit, but the soundtrack grew on me. It takes a lot of liberties in the name of capturing the original soundtrack's tone and intent.
