Timespinner - I played a little but for some reason the performance was really bad, the game slowed down to 50% at random points and required restarts. I have a 1080Ti, i5 8400 and 16 GB of RAM, so that simply shouldn't happen. I think there were input latency issues too. Maybe that's just the Xbox launcher version though. Kunai - I quit at the mountain boss. It's just unacceptably terrible AND pretty difficult on top of that. If you make something that's this bad and don't want to cut it from your game, please at least don't make it hard. Let me brute force through it and forget about it as soon as possible. Another issue here is accessibility. The sword doesn't have a limited attack speed, so if you're not damaging your wrist spamming the attack button, you're playing the game objectively wrong. It's easy to set up a turbo button on PC, but that's just not okay. I didn't find the game that fun outside of these issues either. It's kinda cute, but the level design, progression through the map, platforming and combat all felt slightly irritating and never "right".

I couldn't play Timespinner. I ended up refunding the game due to how awful the dialog was. I recall something about a character flipping a table and ruining a cake (who does that?) and then a character said something like "thanks for pretending to care." It felt as equally put together as a Twitter post. Hell, you can even see it in this video proper, like the part where a character gets told not to make assumptions because it's bad to assume for some reason. People love timespinner so I don’t know what that other person is on about but I agree that it’s very disappointing. It looks nice. That’s about all I really enjoyed.

Dialogue is definitely cringe and forced. "BTW I'm a pervert" SJW crap

@@grover7531 Timespinner is so loved that almost no one talks about it outside of GDQ. This video's comments section demonstrates how little people care about Timespinner; almost none of the comments include it.

i adored yoku. the pinball got a little frustrating at times but it was always skill-based, getting flung from obstacle to obstacle never stopped being fun, and i just found it endlessly entertaining and surprisingly painless to fully complete in a way that most metroidvanias simply are not

Nerrel's sarcastic animations by now have become the worthy successors of 20th Century dystopian novels. Except more terrifyingly realistic...

Could someone tell me how to find the arragement of the Metroid theme that it's playing at the end?

I love this series. I hope he does Iconoclasts and Owlboy at some point

Iconoclasts is one of those games where it looks good and then you play it and like, holy shit, it's *really good*

@@ragnarockerbunny Agreed. It's story, graphics, world design, & boss fights are some of the best I've ever seen in metroidvanias.

Yoku sure is the second cutest thing I've seen because that Queen Bee character is the first

I'm so here for the Hollow Knight salt, there seems to be no other source for it on the internet and I agree with all of it

I am so happy to see someone talking about Kunai, it’s one of my favorite games from 2020 and I beat it so many times. Kunai definitely needs more attention!

Horrible video, no Tingle noises during the rating. I thought we got the tingle tuner fixed?

Yoku is a great game, played it like two years ago and it probably was the most original take on a metroidvania I've ever seen. It feels like someone played Sonic Spinball and went "I can improve this", and they did, they really did.
