@@MtrplsHQ good cuz this video was BOOORRRING... IMO hey ...I've lived the comic book world life.. getting into comics in the mid 60's... buying Journey into Mystery 83 and other origin comics out of garage for a nickel a piece . .getting the first 50 issues of X-men AND the Avengers in the same evening from two kids. my age back in 1967 for just 5.00 TOTAL.. going to the treasure comic room of an antique store here in my city.. and picking up rare pre code horror comics.. for just a buck each.. I remember buying the 50 cent issue one of SAVAGE TALES off the drugstore.. newsstand like it was just yesterday.. I had amassed quite a collection.. before I started selling them off on E-bay.. I still have the whole run of MAD's and Panics.. and about 250 MAD paperbacks as well.. there were always deals that slipped thru my fingers though.. like being able to buy near mint copies of Amazing Fantasy 15 for just 8.00 each... boy I wish I would have nabbed some of those..

His passion really spoke to me. Ive known him as a great actor and an accomplished musician(those are Grammys lined up in front of his CGCs!) To learn he’s curated such a historic collection impresses me more. Thanks for this interview

My wife grew up in Panama Canal Zone (military family) and bought comic books in the Fort Clayton commissary too in late 1950s and early 1960s. She had to leave her Comic book and ballcard collections there when they came back to the states in 1962...:-(. Appreciate video.

I'm the proud owner of one of Ruben's Sensation Comics (issue 94 CGC 7.5) that I purchased in the mid 2000's. It was the highest graded copy at that time.

Hi, I hate to be that person, I comment on alot of videos & I'm in alot of chats & I'm always positive. I didn't enjoy alot of this video, I don't mind hearing his back story, but you had him going on & on. I want to see his books, I wish it was less talk & more show, especially when you say it's a legendary collection.

Got me thinking… Hot, successful, modern books have a print run of around 40,000 and maybe 35,000 or more have stayed out of the local dump. The books in his collection had print runs of up to 1,000,000 issues with maybe only 100 or so escaping the burn barrels and bird cage linings of their era! His generation (Boomer?) is responsible for seeing the historic and cultural value in a mass media considered utterly disposable not only by the general consumers but the creators as well. We owe him for the existence of our hobby! My folks are Boomers and they encouraged me from a young age to take good care of my comics.
