My grandfather took me to the first game in Shea Stadium. I think it was 1964 and I was about nine years old. Of course I’ve been a fan ever since.

Same with me but it was probably around 1979.

No, it was '64 and Willie Stargell homered to end it for the Mets just like he did so many times against the Amazins in their history as the all-time Met killer. I rushed home from school to watch the end of that game.

My dad took us to a Mets game in 1965. We went to the World's Fair and the game after. I was 8. Loved them ever since. In those days teams had kept many players for their entire career. To see so many players moving around from team-to-team sort of weakens my fanhood now-a-days. But this year's team is a magical mystery tour.

Magic indeed. I was 12 when the Miracle Mets won it in 1969, this run feels similar. From early in the season, the doormat of the National League and the broadcaster's punching bag, to now this. 1969 the Mets were a laughing stock, and then the miracle run in 1969 late in the season and a dominant World Series against the mighty Orioles. The catches by Swaboda and Agee, the timely hitting and pitching, and the fans storming the field and tearing up the field at Shea Stadium.....this feels similar. If only Ed Kranepool had lived a few more months to witness all of this.

Very nice. I was 13 years old at the time. I went to opening day at Shea Stadium my grandfather took me when I was a kid. I saw the first home run hit there

Don't forget the throw from Alvarez that hit the third base and stayed in the infield.. It has been happening for a while now.. This team won't be defeated.

Mets, Padres and Dodgers would all have their way with the Yankees. The Yanks are not as strong top to bottom. Too many holes.

Giancarlo Stanton looks like a right handed Daniel Vogelbach....not in body type, but in the way the bat looks like a stickball bat in his hands, and when he swings.

I have never been less stressed as a Mets fan to be losing a playoff game. The Phillies bullpen was mentally shattered. It wasnt a matter of if they would score off the bullpen, it was when would they score off the bullpen.

Same thing I thought. I told my brother that when the Phillies take out Ranger Suarez, the Mets will put up a big number. We were right.

On that shot over the bag by Boehm down the line, why is that fair? The ball on a fly landed in foul territory, how is this different then a fly ball that drifts foul from fair territory?
