HoJo was my absolute favorite when I was growing up, this is awesome!

I was at the game where Hojo got to 30-30. Also known as the Pendleton game. One of the most memorable nights ever at Shea. 1987 Mets in a pennant race with the Cards. Hojo steals 2nd for 30-30 and Shea is rocking. Mets leading 3-0 with Darling on the mound and he was dealing. Might have been working on a no-no. Then 8th inn Vince Coleman drags a bunt that Darling dives for and breaks his thumb. Cards score and next inning Pendleton hits a 3 run homer into the player parking lot where Darling is getting into his car. Stadium totally deflated. I never experienced a crowd going from total euphoria to stunned silence like that ever. On the 7 line going home you could hear a pin drop. Nobody was saying anything… total shock.
