Yep, Floor has a 3 year old princess, 2 giant horses, cat with newborn kittens - and I am pretty sure she has got a new dog also. Floor, Hannes and Freja (daughter) are living on a farm, directly to the woods and close to a lake, in a Swedish forest. So full time mom, farmer, wife - and besides of that, she turns on the sun every morning 😉

Funny that you ask about how they are doing this with one guitarist. Interestingly, Nightwish has 3 guitarists: Emppu, Marco, and Troy Doneckley, who is a multi-instrumentalist. He's the one you'll see playing low whistle, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, e-bow, and guitar. Additionally, Floor, Marco, and Troy all sing, and sing lead on songs, so this band has talent in spades.

Can you check out Everdream from Wacken 2013. I think you will enjoy that one as well. The whole Wacken concert is out of this world. I've been following Nightwish and Floor since 1997 and it never gets old, only gets better. Yes, she has a KZbin channel called "Storytime", I think they are at Storytime #4 now.. You can check out her, around the ranch and her horses, and "some of her friends, and music associates that come by to join in the conversations", she talks about the other musical projects she has going on.. She explains the migration process she went thru, joining Nightwish, moving from her home in the Netherlands to Finland, then meeting her husband and then uproot again to move to Sweden where he's from, learning the languages. I've heard her sing songs or speak in German, Spanish, Finish, French and of course Dutch and English....

"Master, Passion Greed" is another heavy duty song that features Marco's singing,, There is no live concert video performance of this song on KZbin.. But, there is a Special Nightwish Video of this song put together by Comunidade using high quality concert clips. It's excellent, but they don't perform this song anymore because it's an angry snap back at the person who was the main cause of the split of Nightwish and their first lead singer Tarja. They pretty muchly knew that her then Manager/Husband was the main cause of Tarja's attitude change towards money and a new solo career.. This song is directed towards him... and in order to put that episode behind them they agreed to not perform the song anymore.. With lyrics like "the stench of your lies draws flies" It's a very harsh criticism of him.. ..

Troy, the multi instrumentalist is from the UK. Marko, Emppu, and Tuomas remain the only original members.... well Marko actually took over bass duties from Sami in 2001, but remains with them. Drummer Kai Hahto is also Finnish but took over Drumming duties in 2015 after Jukka announced he could no longer hold it together because of health problems due to insomnia. Any reactions and feelings/emotions that include goosebumps, chills, and tears whether from joy or sadness from hearing Floor's voice, is called a "Floorgasm". It wasn't meant to offend you, it's actually a "thing" in the Nightwish community and especially newcomers. New songs written specifically with Floor in mind. 'Yours Is An Empty Hope' is the 4th track on the 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' studio album. This concert was another milestone for Nightwish, they were the first Finnish band to headline Wembley Arena. In a Wembley Arena annual poll for the best live performance of 2015, they came 2nd to Queen. Floor is doing all the growling using false vocal cords technique, IIRC a technique she learned / mastered during the 'ReVamp'(band) days.

Another wonderdul review!.....as to the Irish/Celtic sounding accent, you are not the only one who has though as much. Floor is actually from the Netherlands but at times she does sound like she has an Irish/Celtic accent.....in fact a few Nightwish songs sound like they may have a bit of Celtic folk song in them (I Want My Tears Back, Harvest. etc.).

FLOOR IS DUTCH!!!!!!!! pfff guys She had her own band After for Ever when she was a teen (pretty famous from 1998 to 2007), than started Revamp (great songs too) Till Nightwish was on tour in the USA and their singer was sick again. They called her if she could sing with them in 48 hours. She studied the songs on the plane...it was a hit and she never left. There is a docu onyou tube about this, learn the songs in 48 hours) Wacken is when she was just hired in the band. She is married with the drummer of Sabaton and they live together with there 3 year old daughter Frey in a remote part of sweden in the woods. They have a studio on house, she is a great amazone and has two horses, Floor is a HSP (higly sensitive personality) and after touring she needs the peace and quietness of the woods. Fun fact, her sister is also a singer. She is indeed that tall. Holland is the country with the tallest persons in the world officially. Must be those crazy vikings who were kings here for decades. :D (Holland is very close to denmark and our language is more like Danish than German, what everybody thinks)
