Growing up i started to realise how fooled i was by that. Its December 16th, my 15th birthday. The only people congratulating me are the ones gotten a Facebook notification, to remind them. In conclusion, you're special for one day in 365s,it's more depressing to know that during the mean time you're just a human being having no actual point in life. This video really helped me put things into perspective. It’s much easier to get caught up in the failures we see in ourselves than it is to see the accomplishments that we should be proud of. I’m not particularly fond of the fact that I’m turning 21 tomorrow, if only because it’s a milestone birthday and that I don’t feel like I’ve achieved the maturity that I think should could with that age. Therefore, not feeling like I’ll be able to celebrate. But I need to remember that there’s so much that I’ve done and so much that I am to be proud of. I sometimes feel they don't care enough about me to remember my birthday. Okay some people are terrible remembering birthdays, but that's what reminders are there for. It's all about how a person matters to you to be remembered. To the people I love, just a small happy birthday is enough to make me smile. Btw, today is my birthday!

Getting older once you get to a certain age can be a big cause of depression for many, myself included. That coupled with my own expectations and desires never being met is a huge source of depression for me. Not just on my birthday but leading up to it and afterwards.

Since I was 4 I have always felt sad about my birthday and have always broken down, mostly in private throughout the day. I hate being wished happy birthday and hate celebrating it, I never understood why. On my 10th birthday my mum took me and my 2 siblings to a new country and it was my worst birthday i felt the most depressed i had ever been. Tomorrow I turn 18.

Every birthday i passed crying. Caz since childhood i always wished for a happy excited birthday celebration which sadly no one did. I never expect anything from anyone since I was a child...I only have existential crisis now that I have some aims and the purpose I believe on. The fact that I'm not working or not enough working on that purpose kills me...and when people wish me on my birthdays I get paranoid. I am that type of person who's private and forgetful...I forget tons of birthdays and no one forgets mine...which even gets me into more depression. Birthdays make me exceptionally sad...I hate it. The only way I'll be happy is when I have my people....the people whom I'll give my heart to....in a private place with peace and quiet. Celebrating a birthday like that will be the ultimate prize. Unfortunately I don't have the people whose mind connects with me, or who understands me and what I'm going through. I am fortunate enough to have one loyal friend but long distance and I look up to her wish the most, though I don't like it, it actually makes you feel nice to have one person whom you can wholly trust. But I do wanna write a diary about what I have accomplished so far. Have to try that today as I'm turning 22 tomorrow. I hope that I achieve the purpose and someday look back at my accomplishments with my people, freedom, life and a pat on my back saying "you did it" to myself...........I want nothing more.

I know why I am sad on my birthday. Coz no one else make me feel special on my birthday, even my loved ones don't try to make time for me on my birthday. Gifts are not all that one wants. Sometimes all a person needs is the presence of their loved ones on their birthday. No one remembers to call me on 12 AM the only time I got a midnight birthday call was when I asked for it. I think it's easy for me to be sad on birthday than asking others to make me feel better.

Birthdays have got to be the most depressing day of the year next to Christmas, Valentines and New Year's Eve. It's my birthday today and it was non happening as usual. They get worse as time goes on and extra bad when you're single and or your family don't care. It's gotta be a myth these days are good. I gave up trying to make my birthday good cos people never want to go out. I started planning adventures on my own which helped. Being born on the 13th, whenever my mol was mad she would call me cursed. I had a birthday party when i was 10 and only 1 person showed up. Didn’t have any other birthdays since then. I think another part of birthdays is that it shows the true colours of those around you. I got upset yesterday because my close friends didn't wish me happy birthday, not a single text and I would go to extra lengths for their birthday... arrange to go shopping for their gifts, get them a card and message, put up a post in the morning. By the time the evening came, then they put up a post, but when I responded thankyou I heard nothing else. I also remember when with my emotionally abusive ex, I arranged a meetup with him and friends and not one person turned up. They didn't even have the decency to say they couldn't make it. I always have that dread f who is going to bother with their time, as I usually tend to put in the most effort.

My birthday was yesterday (1st December). I was sad because not everyone of my close friends wished me. Although they knew it was my bday. I had posted Taylor Swift's 22 in my insta and snap story. They viewed my stories and still chose not to wish me. This hurts me on the inside because I've always wished them (even before viewing their stories). I've come to a conclusion that these so called "close friends" are only friends when they need something from me. Other than that, they don't give a crap about me. What's even more sad, is one of my friends instead chose to post about some other girl's bday (which coincidentally happened to be on the 1st of December)

Happy late birthday. :) I think that what we have to realize is that it doesn’t matter what other people do or don’t do. The people who don’t care or put in effort in friendships aren’t worthy of being cared for by you. But i could relate to you today, it’s my birthday today, december 4th. I’ve always thought i was cared for and loved. I’ve always wished everyone a happy birthday, it’s a small deed and it can make someone’s day so why not? Today i expected my so called “friends” to at least call me. I opened my phone and no notifications or messages not even missed calls. My heart shattered. I’ve been crying for an hour, i feel alone and unimportant. I just feel unwanted. I know it hurts but we can do this together. Everyday it’s a lot more difficult to keep going.
