@@iPodiMaster The sensibility of composition from the older eras in a very notable way contribute to the in-vogue formulation composition styles of today imo. Especially electronic music I'd say. You need to know the rules to be able to break em, or shape em to fit the current. I think this song works because of that fusion between what was and what is. Joel did an amazing job of weaving the classical orchestral and the uber-techy vibes together.

As a long-time Deadmau5 fan, I would rank Slip near the top among my favourite of his tracks. But this is even better than the original. For starters, I never knew how much I needed a Saxophone solo during those Suspended Chords in the 2nd Build. It's also a much more impressive feat to play the Syncopated Ostinato on Analogue Instruments, especially when there is no beat to which to anchor yourself (Marimba), or when you have multiple instrumentalists playing it together in perfect synchronicity. The whole song comes together so beautifully in this version. The fact that this video has received more views than the original Deadmau5 track is well deserved in my opinion. Thank you Meute for a phenomenal rendition of this gorgeous track. Joel would be proud.
@th58412 жыл бұрын
It is extremely impressive how the marimba player can follow his own rhythm without being pulled into the heavy 2/4 beat of the comp. This polyrhythm is crazy. They do the same thing in Kerboros, where the original is much simpler and straight forward.
@Kijad2 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that's the bass saxophone, no less (I seem to see the bari breathing with the background chords) - absolutely god-tier
@th58412 жыл бұрын
@@Kijad Are you thinking about the 4:45 min mark? There it is the bari sax playing the solo. You can see the bass sax pausing in the background and the tenor sax participating in the chords. Also a bass sax will have a much deeper tone and sound. But the bari sax needs to play in its upper register to make such a delicate sound.
