Mew Mew Power French Themes and Inserts - Subtitled

My last Mew Mew Power song dub video... hopefully XD(I'm still missing some of the Hebrew songs).
My next one will probably be the Berry Berry Mew Mew songs once I can find someone to give me translations to all of them.
Note: These are the only songs that the French version dubbed. "It's Here" was replaced by an instrumental of "Animal Instinct", "Dance Another Day" was made into an instrumental and that instrumental replaced "Crush" and "Lucky Me." "Don't Wake Me Up!" was kept in English.

I love the second season French theme song. I have no idea why, I just think it sounds awesome. :D The voice, the way it flows, I just really love it.

@Mimikitty97 I agree. The French dub is the best. Also, I'm sure if they didn't get the first 26 episodes from 4Kids, they wouldn't have edited them. They kept the remaining 26 in their original form.

I love the French singing and words of the original themesong. The singing is beautiful and the message is very noble. It kind of reminds me of the Sakura Wars themesong and how it addresses the Hanagumi.

I'm very glad that they still used My Sweet Heart, the only thing that bugs me is that the lyrics don't really match with the scenes you see. Anyway, they could have kept the old opening so it's really great that they did this! The songs are really well dubbed; the lyrics are great and so is the singer. I've noticed that France dubs their shows pretty well.

I know. There was a similar problem reguarding the French dub when it came to Zoey's speech. One French person said that the last word was "cool" and another one said that she said "cute" XD.

Here are the problems I have with these subtitles: 0:33 Actually, it's more along the lines of large, great or big instead of grand. 0:45 When one is in love works, but it would also work as When in love. 0:51 If we are all united 1:02 Faiblir = weaken 1:36 fou=crazy weird=etrange 3:51 desormais= from now on

hey i love this! and btw im korean, but i only how to say small sentences(i'm only half), but i have a friend who speaks fluent korean and lived there for most of her life. maybe i can ask her if she would be willing to translate the berry berry mew songs?

I think it's just a matter of preference. The people who translated these for me were from France. They thought that grand fit better, so I used it.

Yeah, "chou" can mean different things. One of the other meaning that is obviously not what Zoey means is "cabbage".

While the lyrics of 'It's in our nature' aren't exactly wrong, they're literal translations of the French lyrics. I feel like a more English translation would be closer to this: "Everything can change in just a moment, Our lives then changed Invaded by the feeling, That a power within us had just woken up! It's in our nature! (This power's in us) It's in our nature! (We're ready for anything!) In our nature! And until the end, We believe in our abilities! We believe in ourselves because, It's in our nature!" Also, I believe that the French singer for the first half of the season was Nathalie Stas. :P

Making subtitles also an art. While I am going to change some of the sentences when subbing the music for the episodes, if the translation is too literal it'll be stilted. The goal is to make subs that are faithful to the original source while having them make sense to the person watching.

But not as accurate, and that's not what I hear in it. Grand can mean more than just big in English. It sounds like good instead of big and powerful.

According to my last english teacher, the english language is derived 40% from french and 60% from german. It might have made things easier for translators. Still, adapting lyics is always a challenge, and I have imense respect for those who can pull it off. That said, sometimes it's best to take creative liberties and write something more or less original.

Is the singer in the first theme a male or a female? It can be hard to tell. Is it me or do male french singers have a tendency to sound very delicate and high pitched? (Not that I'm complaining.) Either way, it's a very sweet voice.

So did France dub the entire series? But if they dubbed it from the English dub, and the English dub only lasted half the series, then did France dub the second half from the Japanese version?

Jungle Empress 85 france dubbed all the anime (52 episodes)
