With one final struggle, Shadow Mewtwo’s rampage has finally been quelled. And Mewtwo has been freed from his corruption. But… was it enough? Were Newtwo, Huey, and Pigment’s efforts enough to save him? Or were they too late? For now, only time will tell… I have to say, this story arc was handled very well. The writing, art, and voice acting were amazing. Phenomenal work to TC-96 and the OVAS team.

​@user-yv2lg2mh5t From my point of view The parasite crystal was lodged through him and made pathways to keep his body alive and simultaneously corrupted it, hence the need for the purification crystal. Given the symbolism used at the end it's likely a better chance he survived than not. There's a high possibility the moment the parasite crystal was removed all the internal damaged caused by the parasite crystal eventually will catch up too Mewtwo. If you want to dig into a deeper I would imagine the psychological damage from all parties involved is going to be an interesting factor to consider moving forward. (I imagine being puppeted by another being wouldn't exactly be a pleasant experience, especially with all the things that it made him do)
