Knowing Takeshi Shudo originally penned Lugia as female while they were still figuring out the mythos of the Pokémon world, this remix feels particularly resonant with Lugia’s role as a mother. You can easily rename this something like “Lugia’s Lament” and it would work. Lugia watched as her three children were taken over by forces outside of their control and she tried to break up their fighting, only for them for them to turn on her and attack her ruthlessly, almost as if all three of them got fed up with her interrupting them. If they recognized their mother they certainly couldn’t act on it. This remix FEELS like that exact part when Lugia cries and mourns underwater, “I failed-!!” knowing the world will now come to an end because she couldn’t stop it. I wasn’t expecting this remix to linger in that space and yet it’s easily one of the most unique remixes of Lugia’s Song on the internet for it. Good stuff, Mewmore 👍

I know a lot of hardcore Pokemon fans talk down on them, but I really love the OSTs for the American dub of the first three movies. I never even knew they were different from the Japanese originals until years later. The theme for Mew, Mewtwo & Lugia are especially wonderful, and they still randomly pop up in my head over two decades later. Great cover Mewmore 👏
