Take a tour of our apartment in Guanajuato City, Mexico and learn about just how cheap living can be in central Mexico. We are able to live for half the price compared to the US without any major sacrifices. You'll also learn some useful Spanish apartment vocabulary.
Internet, a cleaning lady, water, gas, electricity, and a washer and dryer are all included in our rent. We also share our grocery expenses and what it normally costs us to go out to eat here.

Thank you both. you do a fine job. My two boys and I moved to guadalajara from SoCal. I can assume you rent a 'funished' apt. in a what is probably a tourist town. In city center I would pay double. peace

I had some hellish experiences with Air BnB. From being double booked and left hanging. To renting from a domestic violence victim who then rented out her blood soaked mattress and never cleaned the apartment. I discovered the bloody mattress after striping the bed for the next guest, so she would have to wash the sheets. So I'm done with Air BnB. Sent corporate pics of the filthy place with the blood soaked mattress and got zero response from them.

Love Guanajuato city one of my favorite cities in the world, but 450USD a month is pretty steep. I've lived in various countries currently in Brazil I pay 400USD for a huge modern house, with 1/2 hectare of lush forest land surrounding it including all bills. Previously I lived in Argentina (Mar del Plata) I lived in a modern 1 bedroom apartment in the center of town including all bills I paid like 340USD. This was direct with the owners, of course, still, I think for the size of the apartment considering Guanajuato city is not a large metropolitan area that is quite up there. This is the gringo effect seen this again and again all throughout Latin America. It will continue happening because as you mentioned to US, CAN, EU citizen these prices are cheap compared to back home.
@SpanishandGo
@SpanishandGo 4 жыл бұрын

Wow that's expensive 😮 considering people there make no more then 100 dollars per week most make less then that, they raised it to people that they know go there from another country. I know compared to us is cheap, my momma was renting a 2br. house near the border for 130 dollars per month light and water included since she has cancer has to live with family now. Still think what y'all paid was a bit much first time seeing your video :) hope y'all make more good luck and safe travels 🙏

We do too! It gives the place a nice character. Last minute I was telling May that we should have included more close-ups, but I'm glad you noticed without them. Thanks for watching and commenting! Un saludo. -Jim

When you showed the view out to the town the building you are in looked newer. What part of town were you in and are there bigger but cheaper places on the outskirts. What about the old town area? Is it more expensive? I would get claustrophobic in your place. Oh, how about parking there?

how much is the average house there, and if u have a house to u have to pay the taxes on the property even after I pay the house off, in some country after u pay the house off u don't have to pay property taxes, I lived in America and u pay property all your life if u own the home!

Used your link for the Airbnb, found a nice place to stay!! :) Going to San Jose Del Cabo in a few months. Any suggestions for that area would be greatly appreciated as far as food, excursions, and beaches! Gracias!

I was just in Cabo San Lucas. I would recommend the ATV tours. I went thru a company called Cactus tours in Migriño, bcs. I spent like $60-80 dollars for the ATV tour and they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel(depending on your location). You spend like two hours riding ATVs thru mountains, dunes and pacific beaches(my favorite). Travel hack they say that you have to leave your phone or camera behind in a storage locker but id recommend you bring it along with you to take pictures by the beach otherwise you will end up having to purchase the pictures that the company photographers take of you along the way.
