Whats up guys today we are covering Johnny "Crow" Martinez, a Mexican Mafia boss out of Orange County who was caught up in a Federal Indictment a couple years ago. Martinez ruled with an iron fist from his prison cell and commanded absolute respect. At the slightest hint of disrespect or if his authority was questioned he didn't mind having that person murdered assaulted or at least threatened within an inch of their life. He was actually able to slip through authorities fingers at the State level multiple times and was a big reason why the Feds decided to step in and charge him and his gang. The Federal Government came through with an Indictment a couple years ago and charged Johnny Martinez/members of his gang and associates with Racketeering. These charges included Murder, Attempted Murder, Extortion and a laundry list of smaller crimes. Here is the story leading up to the indictments.

I had 10 years to life. I had a serve mandatory 10 years and after that I went to board for years in a row until they found me eligible for parole so that’s how it works.

Offenders serving life sentences with the possibility of parole are automatically eligible for a parole hearing typically 13 months prior to their Minimum Eligible Parole Date, or upon reaching the eligibility for the Youth Offender or Elderly Parole processes. Just because an Offender has been scheduled for a parole proceeding does not mean he or she will be released on parole. The Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) will determine whether offenders are suitable for parole. Offenders sentenced to life with the possibility of parole are not guaranteed parole and can be held in prison for life.

In California it used to be that anything that ended with "to life" meant you were dieing in prison I went to prison the first time in 1995 and I knew people that were busted 15-20-25+ years on 7 to life's now I know a few people that are home because of these new law changes that would have never went home in the past so it's not necessarily true anymore that your sentence ending in "to life" means you are not ever getting out you know what I mean.

If you have a 15 to Life sentence means that you'll be up for parole board after the 15 years which they'll either grant it And release you or deny it which at the point they can give you a 3 year/5 year/7years /10years or 15 years denial and that's going to determine when you back up for parole board.. 💯
@01-1OH-LlVVIXQX-vn9qw

In example 15 to life means he has to do 15 years regardless, thats his minimum. He doesn't necessarily have parole unless its stated 15 to lofe with the possibility of parole. He can although begin applying for parole several years or well within completely doing his time. (Just in example he can apply for parole 5 years untill his complete 15 or 3 years before his full 15.) That depends on each individual and their Administration + Board. If he wasn't granted parole he would have to take it to court and hopefully he gets a grant (grant for parole). Not everybody gets grants. As 'well if he is granted parole dosent necessarily mean hes getting out just because he has parole. Its up to board! If they want to they can just say no! So think about what you do before you do something you're going to regret!

Mandatory 15yrs. To life means they can hold you for life beyond that 15yrs. I mean I'm in Texas and california is very different in how things are done. But you will do 15 and if the board rules to release you after that they will but if not they can set you off f0r say another 10 years which means you'll do another 10before parole board sees you again

So most people unless they do extremely well and even then most of the time they're still denied on their first parole hearing date then they have to wait 5 years each time to go up to the parole board once again and if they have any kind of disciplinary write-ups they will be denied parole I had two different cell mates both of them were serving at seven to life terms not even for killing anybody and both of them have been there since 1976 and 1977 so at the time I was there they had both been down 43 and 44 years on 7 years to life they were both in their 60s and we're literally 17 and 18 years old when they were arrested
