In this episode, I am trying to reach Misol Ha in Mexico. But Mexico is a huge country and distances are big, so I have to ride almost 400 kilometers of boring road to get here and on the way, I get stopped at every police stop..

"This doesn't get old! I can walk up and down 10 times behind here because it's so awesome." I can't speak for everyone else but, for me, every Itchy Boots episode is awesome, even the ones she apologizes for at the end for being boring. There are 445 other Itchy Boots videos to watch for anybody that needs more than today's video. They're as good or better when I watch them over and over.

@@jimbell3242 My internet is so slow, it takes me an hour to watch a 25 minute video in 360p. I don't know if I can handle the videos being better than they are on my 17" laptop. Just yesterday I found 2 videos I'd remembered but, couldn't find. Search " Itchy Boots 60,000km " and you'll find most memorable and crashes and scary moments. "And there were about 5 military looking guys, and they asked me do you have grenade, bomb, AK47, automatic weapon?" "And I'm like, no." I think the river running over the cliff in Bolivia that she crossed scared all of us.

The sauce on your enchiladas was most probably "mole" a unique mexican sauce mostly serves with chicken and, Mexican rice. The jamaica drink is derived from flower petals. The petals are boiled to release their delicious taste and amazing berry flavor. Be careful throughout Mexico and, don't give too much information about yourself. Good luck.

Would you recommend drinking locally made drinks? I live in the US and anytime I visit Mexico, I'm warned by fellow Americans not to drink anything or any ice cube that may have come from tap water, to make sure I avoid Montezuma's revenge (traveler's diarrhea).

As someone who has traveled the length of Mexico before and visit frequently, one thing I've always done when stopped and asked where I'm going is tell them the name of a well known location. For example, if I were going to Misol Ha like Noraly I would just tell them I'm going to Palenque because Mexico is huge, tons of places the officers probably never heard of, and you don't want to give them anything to chew on. My goal is always to finish the conversation as quickly and as amicably as possible because you just do not know if you might be talking to a wolf in sheep's clothing. Sad but true. Best of luck on your travels.

@Diane M More than I could do! I've seen what I can do with chopsticks. Give me two things in my hand and make one of them sharp and both of them pointed, I really would stab myself somewhere. I can eat with a fork in my left hand and a knife in my right hand but, it feels too dangerous to do as standard procedure. Also I've been riding motorcycles much longer than Noraly has been alive and oh the injuries I have had. I've never been to a doctor or hospital because of a motorcycle injury but, I still have aches, pains and scars galore. She does have the ability, self control and the mental acumen to keep from hurting herself and her motorcycle, also more than I could do. "The thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death" pretty often for me.

Rosa de Jamaica, the "berry" like drink, is made from dried habiscus flowers that are soaked in hot water to draw out the flavor. The flowers are sifted out and then sugar is typically added to sweeten the drink (usually, way too much sugar), Stay safe in Mexico, Noraly.

@@trailerparksupervisor7046 Wrong in what sense - on the sugar amount perhaps ? tastes differ ! . Jamaica is indeed made from the red , dried hibiscus flowers , as Dorsey says , no berry or fruit juice is involved . If one goes through the local village mercado or a modern surpermercado like Aurrera (Walmart ) you will find the dried jamaica in bulk display baskets . Its a great refresher to walk into a restaurant and order a pitcher of jamaica on a hot mid day and rehydrate and savour it all for awhile , then hit the road again for more riding safely . Drinking it ice cold is nice too but risks a "brain freeze " as one can experience when guzzling a slurpee too fast 🥶

I expected you to encounter numerous military-like checkpoints in Costa Rica. They were at nearly every town's border back in 2004. Friendly too and once they started to recognize us they just waved us through. Of course, Mexico is way different with the police having to deal with cartels, etc... Maybe they at first think you could be a drug runner :-) The waterfall was worth it all.

The Jamaica drink you were drinking is made from a reddish purple flower, not a berry. I think it is called Hibiscus flower in english. The brown sauce that you were eating was mole, made from chili peppers and many other ingredientes. The reason that you were stopped so many times was that you were coming up from central america and there always has been many checkpoints on these routes. Good Luck.

Trust me it has more to do with the fact she's White Euro and not an American. Most Whites they come across are American. It's something they don't encounter often. Also as we all know mexico has a huge drug & human trafficking problem. So someone who looks very different is going to set off metal alarms inside the cop's brain. They probably think she's a scout/look-out for a cartel. (they often employ Gringos for gun smuggling operations)
