Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy wargame developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. Mexican focus tree is definitely one of the coolest of the game, sad tho they didn't add a « Patria Grande » formable nation (would gave a motivation to conquer all the Caribbean, Guyana, Belize), and please Pdx add A BRAZILIAN FOCUS TREE (they did a swiss focus tree before brazil, i'm pissed off and I'm not even brazilian)

Funfact: During WWII the Nazis did send spies to Mexico and attempted to start a movement there (not that here was a lack of support, the mexican minister of education at the time was a fervent fan of the nazis, the term "Raza" you may have heard before comes from one of his essays where he calls for the genocide of al Anglo-Saxon peoples and basically is a love letter to Adolf), ever heard of a lovely lady called Uma Thurman? Well her mom is actually the child of those two spies and said child was born and raised in Mexico, so not only is Uma Thurman mexican-american and is actually eligible for Mexican citizenship by birth, her grandparents were former german nobles turned nazi spies sent to Mexico, isn't history fun?

I don't know why, but that first civil war was absolute hell for me. Guess it was just bad RNG, but it took like 5 restarts to get my horses deployed before they capitulated me. Pretty much smooth sailing afterwards. Viva la Mexico.

I absolutely love the focus tree Mexico has, historical Mexico simply picks "realpolitik" and chooses not to warmonger at all, however if you do pick anything else you can get a nice amount of cores and manpower from the caribbean and central america, I just wish there was a way to core south america, Haiti is french speaking yet can be cored, and none of the south american countries can, a bit of a bummer considering countries like Peru are a logistical nightmare to invade, fight fiercely, don't offer much noncore manpower and don't really have much to offer

And Mexico could take the role of leader of the Hispanic World(and have a national spirit to go with it) since Spain was well in civil war that spirit would allow you to core almost all of South America(maybe not Brazil) and with each South America country you take the spirit gets better(like Crusade of Democracy with Carlists)

I actually had a game a few months ago as Argentina where i took over all of south and central America, eventually taking over the US as well (who were busy fighting Germany and Japan). Due to the Monroe Doctrine of the US they don't intervene in wars in South America, because they can't wardec someone they have protection against. Eventually the SU took over Germany, I had taken out Canada and launched attacks against England, knocking the allies out of the war.

@@sylvainduret9880 Abuse lend lease, just before your Central American conquest, improve relations with Peru, Venezuela, and Italy, or perhaps Germany too. Don't just curbstomp those speedbumps, wait for a month or two for each country for at least a shipment or two of lend-lease goods to arrive. To maximize gain, try capitulating them without encircling and destroying their divisions as well. If you can, try getting 2 or 3 collaboration government ops on USA in the meantime (Italy is willing to give you support equipment). Once you are fighting the USA, keep the lend-lease coming as well. Don't fight fair, fight dirty by rushing in and encircling US divisions then rushing the victory points.

I wish there was a Patria Grande formable country consisting of all the former Spanish colonies in South and Central America. Something to fight for there, since aside from Mexico and stuff on some focus trees for European countries, you don't get to do much. Not even the Ecuadorian-Peruvian war happens (which was a real thing in 1941)

I play Argentina more than any other nation in HOI4 these days, because Argentina is another one of those countries that is extremely OP and you can do whatever you want in South America well before WW2 starts. Due to the US guaranteeing your independence you have free reign to just take over the whole continent and they will never interfere with your dreams of South American Empire.

A focus tree for Argentina would be very good. You could go with communism, communist/facism mix kinda (historical, with Perón, take in Nazi refugees). Or join the axis, or also, follow the US and become a capitalist democracy. Also it’s economic history is very interesting. Sorry for such a incoherent comment, I’m bad at writing down my thoughts.

Question, due to many factors (strong resistance in Peru, a slower civil war win, etc.) I am doing this a full year slower than the video. So Paraguay and uruguay wars would lead to war with the US (something I’m not ready for). What do you recommend?

But I blink and BOT11 bursts again through the doors of the bank. Sleep, and BOT11’s probably armed, possibly not. Dream, and BOT11’s torn apart by a dozen rounds. And the drink and the drugs won’t flush BOT11 out - BOT11’s here in my head when I close my eyes, dug in behind enemy lines, not left for dead in some distant, sun-stunned, sand-smothered land or six-feet-under in desert sand, but near to the knuckle, here and now, BOT11's bloody life in my bloody hands.

They don’t actually join the war when it is between two other American powers, atleast at the start. When they reaffirm the Monroe doctrine, then they will join any war
