It's really just unbelievable how today Mexico and the U.S. take care of the people that lives in their territory: In Mexico the Actual Government created an every month social money help program that means that Mexican older people receive e directly every month the necessary amount of money to live without suffering from stress of not having a job or somebody to help them out or because their age that means that every single old Mexican person no matter their marital status, political ideology, gender, religion, etc,, they'll receive every single month enough money to live Maybe not a luxurious lifestyle but yes in a descent way , >>>>>>farmers receive the necessary amount of money they need to become their own bosses in their homeland so they don't have to emigrate to the U.S. the necessary amount of money by the Mexican Government in a credit with interest up to 25 years to payback ,and without sign no contract so in case they can't repay for a credible real reason they Will not lose their land The Entire Education is Free even at university level plus students also receive monthly monetary help to cover up to %80 of School books and all that needed >And people with disabilities in need also receive monthly monetary help and %95 of all Mexican workers at all levels in private and public sectors are registered and have free health care at all time nationwide >>> Mexican President AMLO and his administration keep in the Mexicans Government control the essential key sectors of Energy like oil, gas and electricity that way they guaranteed that the price of Gasoline, Gas and electricity stays low and accessible for all people, this are some examples to name a few about what a real government that take care for the citizens of the nation works and in the international level MEXICAN government creating alliances to fight Poverty inequality and inflation And always promoting a peace way to end the war in Ukraine In the other side the U.S. Promoting ,supporting and financing More war MORE THOUSANDS of human deaths more, increasing billions and billions of dollars for the U.S. military death killer machine industry ,but nothing for the poorest Americans families, The USA government gave $120 billion dollars to Ukraine in help but $0 dollars to help homeless people every single day hundreds of entire american families become homeless but no help for them The US government in this last 3 weeks gave for free more than $400 billion dollars to USA private banks because they were almost bankrupted because they bad and corrupt administration, But Zero $0 dollars for Education ,ZERO$0 DOLLARS to help old people without no Medicare This is how different are this 2 governments and how they threat their own people this are facts REALITY 😥😥

After watching your video I started considering to visit Huatulco very soon, recently retired, December 2022 from Dallas, TX and currently residing in Monterrey, it's nice here but it's a huge city with terrible traffic and I need a more peaceful life, and been thinking about moving to a small beach town, thank you for the information Russell. At 71 (feeling 50ish) I want to be outside as much as possible and heard that Mazatlan is a lot cooler than Huatulco. I plan to move down from Wa. later this year. Thank you so much for your video. What I love about Mazatlán is that you have a large malecón to walk or ride a bike, also the people in Mazatlán is incredible happy and welcoming. And the cherry on top is that if you get bored of the beach you have pine forests and snow areas and cabins to rent about just hours away.

Exactly! The only danger I’ve ever encountered in Mexico was their sidewalks. I feel safer walking in Mexico than I do in the United States. I’ve never eaten, fresher or better produce.

Some of the things that one doesn’t experience on KZbin is the smell of the food, smell of the fruits, and even the smell of burning diesel from the buses. Mexico has its own scent, smells, and noise. This man is living his best life without a doubt. I passed by this town on my way to Puerto Escondido back in the day and I really enjoyed it. I LOVE Mexico and Huatulco. Spent 2 weeks there a few years back, drove my rental scooter to the waterfalls (don't do that.. didn't realize they have GPS 😂) I especially enjoyed the music and dancing in the town centro every weekend. The beaches, the People, the weather, the food.. Everything about that whole area is awesome! I would definitely live there. 👍

I live in Thailand I believe it is similar in cost. If I was to do it over I would probably try Mexico. Mexico is closer to the US and the time zones are more in line. Here in Thailand the distance and time zones are not convenient at all, other than that I am happy here. You put together a great video Russ.

Thailand is currently about 50% cheaper than the US and Mexico is about 25% cheaper, according to cost of living research. Generally, the cost of living follows the same as the difference in currency rates. So lower exchange rate, also lower cost of living. That has been my experience in these two countries, anyway.

I’m in synch with your expat philosophy. Walking everywhere is the best way. Glad you are helping the local people with the Rotary Club volunteers. We all need a sense of purpose. Thanks David, I agree with the points you made. The more I think about it, the reasons why I leaned toward Puerto Morelos seem less important. I do think that Huatulco has more of the vibe that I'm looking for. Do you live in Huatulco and/or have you visited both places? And I do want to be somewhere that is hot all year, don't want to do winter any more. Currently I'm in metro Atlanta and it gets very hot and humid in the summer (upper 90's in both temp and humidity) so I think I'll be ok with the hot weather. ☮️❤️😎

I watched this because I worked in that area in May of 1991 for almost a month. That was when the Mexican government had just started developing the area. There was one hotel which I have identified as Barcelo Huatulco. That wasn't what it was back then. I think it may have been a Hilton or some other internationally known chain. There was a golf course which is still there and a Club Med but that is about all. There was Salina Cruz and La Crucecita and further west, Puerto Angel. That was it. Not many people at all. There was the open market in one of the towns and very few places to find food. The hotel food wasn't good at all even though it was very expensive. I watched and watched and didn't recognize anything or anyplace. I had no idea that there had been that much developement there since I was there. It looks nice now. It's a complete transformation from what it was but I realize that was a long time ago. I know someone who has been living there off and on and has a diving business. I had wondered if it had changed and now I know! If I wanted to live where it was hot all the time and near a beach, that would be right at the top of my choices. Enjoyed the video, well done!
