Correction to this video on the Los Frailes neighborhood- the snapshot of the map is incorrect. Sorry everyone The neighborhood in SMA is called Villa de Los Frailes

The Mexican Revolution and the Mexican Independence wars are not the same. La Comer and CityMarket are traditional supermarkets in every single city in the entire country of Mexico - hahaha, they are not "Norte Americano" supermarkets 😂😂

So, the map that you show, and also what I get when I search on google maps, is that Los Frailes is in Celaya - over an hour away from San Miguel de Allende. Is this really the neighbourhood you intended to profile, or is there one in SMA?

Thank you for the information. San Miguel de Allende played an important role in the Mexican Independence war not the Mexican revolution. That conflict was much later.

Just stumbled upon your useful website/KZbin Channel. Plan to retire in Mexico in a couple years and these are super helpful! I'm thinking it might be best to do a year in SMA or Ajijic while I get my footing and work on my Spanish, then move to somewhere less ex-paty, such as Oaxaca. Does that sound reasonable?
@MexicoRelocationGuide2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeri Yeap! Many people do that. Move to a more expat saturated city to make the transition easier Then they move elsewhere when they feel more comfortable Some stay in the same city after a while too. It all depends on you 😀

Thank you. If one could afford it would be nice to have a tiny bare-bones studio in town for late nights. With a spacious tranquil place way out in the inexpensive outskirts. Now I know what the inside of the "Citi market" looks like too. Have heard so much about it.

The public transportation system is very good if you are willing to take some time to learn it. There are a variety of private buses known as colectivos that take you from one end of town to the other.

What the most affordable locations in San Miguel for single women?

It really all depends on the size of the house, the condition it is in, who rents it from you, and a lot of variables. However a good rule of thumb is that the further away from centro, the more affordable
