Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor while maintaining appropriate language for all ages, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

So I missed the point that the figure is made of polystone instead of plastic. I think the extra cost for polystone isn't necessarily worth it and think the figure would have been fine with plastic parts and a bit cheaper. Either way, it's a fun figure and I had a great time taking plenty of pics. Stay tuned to the end of the video!

Shartimus I noticed on Boog Nice’s review of the same figure, on his cracked head sculpt the light shines quite nicely through the cracks. You might want to grab some stronger batteries

I don’t get the polystone use for this figure. I think it limited the figure in articulation and sculpt at that scale and made it stupid expensive.

I know. I know. Mezco is supposed to be the Cadillac of 1/12 scale figures. I'm just not a fan of six inch figures with soft goods. Cloth and fabric very rarely hang right on a figure that small. If I'm spending that kind of money, I'm going SH Figuarts.

Actually thanos was not inspired by darkseid. Jim starlin has said on multiple occasions that thanos was inspired more by metron. Then he was told to beef up thanos to the degree of darkseid. If you look at the original comic he first appeared in he was tiny

Polystone statues are crazy expensive. Having an articulated polystone fig is awesome imo, I think the price is fine given the materials ofcourse. I don't it have yet which sucks, but it is definitely on my list. If you dont care for the premium materials theres other less expensive ones that are still great.

There are a couple Mezcos coming up that I want, but as most the good ones become "exclusives" that run Hot Toy prices on Ebay, I am kind of over the 1:12 collective thing. They say that they are "by collectors for collectors", but personally, I think they are for scalpers.

Bro, I think something is wrong with your Darkseid's batteries or switch. I know you said they were drained quite a bit, but they should have been WAY brighter out of the package. Mine looks great. I've messed with all the face plates for my toy photography and they are still going strong. You might want to reach out to Mezco on this one.

SUD Rant: Actually what inspired Jim Starlin to create Thanos was Metron, another New God character related to Darkseid. The only thing that inspired anything related to Thanos that is relevant to Darkseid, is his appearance, and that was only the idea from Editors, not Jim Starlin. And it also happened after Thanos' first appearance. So technically we would have Thanos without Darkseid. He would just be less bulky. Either way, great video Shartimus. Nice figure as well

I've been waiting for this figure for like 2 years since it's been shown (or at least it feels like 2 years), with the intention of replacing my C&C Darkseid. Now I'm not so sure. At this price point I won't keep 2 of them so I'd have to sell the Mattel one and I'm not 100% convinced that's a good idea. Besides one can buy a lot of toys for 2 Benjamins and change. It's got insane detail, but it's not a quantum leap from Mattel's version, just look at the texture of the head, the expression, the arms. They look virtually the same. The only winning point here is the design and execution of the outfit, it's a great modernization of the classic without going overboard. Pass for now.
