Because 1) The team has more synergy. 2) Superman, while being the most durable and strongest and perhaps the singularly most powerful overall is not so the point where he completely eclipses the rest of the team, even the heavy hitters who really should be at the absolute least 70 percent as strong, durable, and powerful overall as he is. IE, the balance between the characters is better. 3) The threat they're fighting, IE, the villain, is something that no one member has good odds of defeating on their own. Stale mating and holding back for a time, yes, but not totally defeating without help. IE, the villain is tough compared to all the members of the team put together and it's only with all their powers and abilities combined that they manage to defeat him, so, when he actually is defeated, the victory doesn't feel cheap like it is in Justice League where Superman makes both his team and the villain irrelevant winning actually feels... earned. Sure, there was some scary moments along the way and some mistakes were made and there are some problems with the movie as a whole, but here, when Darkseid is defeated it feels triumphant and like all the heroes, even Superman, had to sweat quite a bit and are REALLY glad that it's over... for now.

With a lot to do and not much time to do it in, War focuses primarily on action, but arguably shines the brightest during its more character-driven moments. Cyborg's fateful encounter with a Mother Box is a highlight, while Green Lantern and Batman's interaction brings a touch of levity to the film. War shows why these characters are worth following individually while also hammering home the appeal of the Justice League.

I honestly love the DC animated movies from 2013-2020. They insist too much on ostentatious brutality and blackness, which, together with the films released in parallel, gave rise to this stupid stereotype that DC is the gloomy equivalent of Marvel, although in the comics they were not much different. The first enemy of the Justice League should be Starro or Center from the "New Barrier", it's too soon for Darkseid and they have reduced him to a common villain. And Cyborg should be in the Titans team, why take that garbage from the New 52?
